  1. I was in a few groups yesterday with my Guardian as the tank. most of my gear is Rakata/Blackhole, with a couple of columi pieces. Except my saber. My saber is still tionese level rating.

In some fights (the first boss in EV HM), Full rakata geared players were pulling aggro off my left and right. I was using Pommel strike, and Guardian slash on cool down, and throwing everything think I could at the boss--but I just could not hold aggro--not even against the player who had my bubble.

The only two things I think it could be at this point is either the low damage I get from the hilt, or my technique. (Or both!)

  2. It has been suggested before, but there could be a very easy way to buff our AoE healing in a non-game breaking manner.

Give Kolto Bomb two separate icons, one of which targets a person for the AoE point, and the other of which targets the ground. (The icons would share a CD, have the same costs, and out, etc) I think our biggest limiting factor isn't the amount it heals, but how clunky it feels to use. It would enable faster use, and allow us extra time to hammer shot.

  3. All the major credit sinks -- legacy perks, speeder piloting, inventory and cargo hold space -- will be purchasable with cartel coins starting tomorrow.

We may come to some equilibrium here as people weigh the value of a cartel coin versus the value of a credit. If credits become near worthless, spending 1 million of them to save on cartel coins won't seem like such a bad idea.

But doesn't it sort of seem like Bioware is throwing in the towel on inflation?

You're forgetting about all the NEW credit sinks that will be appearing.

Namely, all those items from cartel packs that people do not want, and choose to place up on GTM.

Credits will still very much be a part of economy--it's just that most items will have a fixed Cartel Coin cost, and a variable Credit cost based on demand found on the server.

  4. Predictions:

Section X will be bugged and the missions won't work.

Prices on the auction house for cartel items will start at the insane and then go insanely low then stabilize.

At least 3 times per hour someone will ask in general chat "where do i get my house?"

EA will be counting lots of money.

EA will be deciding whether to keep releasing new stuff or just cash out now.

    House?

  5. Two things to consider:

    1. SWTOR has extended the re subscription bonus to December.

    2. Guild Wars 2 is doing a one time exclusive event this weekend along with their 4 day free trial.

I'm sure many people will stop by at some point to spend their cartel coins--but I don't anticipate a huge day zero rush.

  6. I would shell out cartel coins for a trooper outfits that:

    1. Don't have a backpack! Well over 2/3rds of our orange outfits have backpacks.

    2. Uses two dark colors on the chest piece, instead of having one always be white or yellow. It'd be nice to created a darker trooper outfit that actually makes sense from a camo standpoint.

  7. Mainly I wanted to counter that "scoundrel dps can off heal instantly" part on the OP, since it's a lie. No dps scoundrel has an instant cast heal. The instant cast is half way up the heal tree, and the base scoundrel heals are all cast times.

    1. I am sorry for that error.

At any rate, I stand with the "L2P" crowd, though no one's said that yet, because my guild and allies run with commando dps and mando healers all the time in 8 man and 16man, story and hard mode ops (up to and including HM EC). The dps mandos have been both gunny and assault spec'd.

    2. I do not care where you stand. If you think this about how much damage we do, then you do not understand what this post is about.

mando's can cc out of combat,

Let's be clear here, all CC's can be initiated out of combat.

The difference is that some CCs initiate combat when used. (Like ours, and Sages) While some CCs do not initiate combat and are used from stealth.(Scoundrel/Shadow Sap), CC initiates combat when used. (And cannot be used IN combat, respectively.)
