sadly i won't be maintaining a subscription to SWTOR anymore with the loss of the APAC servers, might go over to EVE online give it a try.

The thought behind the APAC server transfers is because most players from that zone had already purchased the game at release and rolled on US or EU servers, keep in mind that we are only getting these transfers after we have been playing on the new servers for more than a month and they won't begin until the end of May so count it as two. While it would be nice, they do not have to offer it to anyone else, they did not even have to give it to the APAC Red Zoners. so at very least don't expect it for another two months, and you can always re-roll on a new server if the population drops.

The Transfer will fail, this is covered in the transfers FAQs and I quote "You cannot exceed 8 characters (including transferred and non- transferred characters) on any given destination server." I hope this clears up any confusion.

Right now nothing.
The transfers have been delayed until late April, more likely May do to legacy concerns, I hope they either merge for the first, so you are not penalized for making a new character, they just have to be wary of exploitation.

You could try and use something like Reduce the Lag as a VPN fix it has a free trial and set ups for SWTOR US servers, it might help your download speed. Also what telco are you with, they may be limiting the port it connects through.

A taken name is a taken name. Wont let you make a character with a name taken...
They had better set something up about names and transferring because it's only fair to people who started months ago. Have more servers as well so we can at least have a chance at getting a name...
you snooze you loose. most of us knew when the server were coming up as we kept in touch with the daisy chain, i made sure to camp the 8 names i wanted on the PvE server first chance I got, if you have a common name I feel bad that you lost your chance to be Vader or Darth or whatever, use this experience to pick a name that unique like Wyoming (you can't have Wyoming by the way) and let be your persona in this game, or add and x a - or a ' in there.

I for one will not be paying for a game that I have to wait 40-45 minutes to get into AFTER I was ready to play it.

Getting heavy Crash to Desktops a lot. Google search shows one of the main causes may be SLI. Since search is turned off on forums, I'm not going to go through 100+ pages of threads to hunt this down. Just want to confirm if SWTOR has SLI support or not.
I used SLI 460s During 419 and stress had no issue other then flickering shadows on high, not sure if that was SLI related though.

I know this is totally not related to TOR but once i figure out how to do this i will be playing TOR. i was just impressed with how fast people respond.
Ok. So i just bought a custom pc. It has no operating system or integrated video output. The reason i chose to do that was because i was going to buy Windows and a graphics card seperatly. Well i assumed there would be some sort of default monitor output plug built in but there is not. So i have no video output whatsoever, a pc with no Windows installed, and a new graphics card sitting off to the side. Is there any way i can plug in the new graphics card to use the DVI connection? Or since its not installed it wont read the card at all. Keep in mind Windows isnt installed yet either....
It will read the card fine you don't have to worry about that, just plug in the card plug in the monitor and install windows as normal. Just make sure its fully plugged in, in the correct PCI-E slot and with the 6/8 pin connector plugged in(if it requires it).

They might but there are still many AUS/NZ players not in the EGA yet, myself included, I put off preordering until there was no chance of a surprise Oceanic release, and plenty of other Oceanic player have done the same, or shopped around for the best deal they could get.

Well Harbinger is clearly the worst wait for the West Coast. The others are only like 5-10 mins. I just don't want to deal with this wait everyday. I just tweeted to Stephen asking for advice.

I wont be so brash as to say don't roll there just understand that a lot of English speaking Oceanic players will be on these Shards clogging your tubes and we have Platypi don't mess with us.
and there is more then you would think.
These server are only going to get worse as EGA goes on and on release they will be far worse.
If you are not invested in your character or do not play late night and early morning I would suggest re-rolling on a new server.

Seriously people, if you're in North America stay off the two "unofficial" oceanic servers. There's still lots of us Aussies not in the game yet and we don't have a choice of servers.
It's either one of those two or don't have any options for guilds / runs / ect.

To be fair, most of the Oceanics are at work/sleeping/etc during your primetime, so I'm guessing the majority of the queue you are seeing is from your fellow North Americans.
server time, well Bioware time, Its 6:25pm start of peak, east coast Australia the time is 10:25am, and the school summer holidays have started so it's probably a combination of both.
If Bioware had released oceanic server for launch there wouldn't be as much as an issue, but Aussies like to play with other people who may still be awake at 2am Bioware time.

Ahh the old PEBKAC Error they are the hardest to rectify.
Op I'd say its the Seagate not the game, or there is a nasty corrupted file lurking on the HDD, had an issue with an old 200gbWD a while back strangely a format fixed the issue but it may be something as simple as a faulty sata cable, doubtful that it is SWTOR that is doing the error, even a corrupted game file wouldn't nuke an HDD.

So, I have a character up to level 12 there. I just read that this is the unofficial "Oceanic" server. I assume that's bad for everyone on the West Coast, like me.
Do I need to start a new char on a different server or will the queue times go away as the launch continues...
It's probably going to get worse as the game goes on due to the slow uptake in Australia and New Zealand, Bioware decided to put 2 of the large oceanic guilds on The Harbinger and I don't think the server has dropped to light since the 13th, the other one is The Jekk 'Jekk Tar probably not the best idea to roll there either unless you have a guild or friends there.

I looked around and couldn't find a similar thread, so sry if its already been asked.
So when do we get our bonus items for buying the CE or the digital box sets? The stuff like the flare gun and what not. I still haven't gotten mine. And also the CE comes with a security key, but I don't know were my code is. Do I need to wait until my box gets delivered or is this some error?

items from the CE and DDE should be accessible if you have put in the game key(can't be sure as I am not in the game yet), not the preorder key it only gives you the color crystal, as for the authenticator the serial code for it is on the back of the device as it is the same as the WoW/FFXIV authenticators.
And yes all these items should be in the mail box.

not at all, level sync is more annoyance than any thing.
if this is what it's going to be going forwards there's not much left for me here, no local servers and now no ability to over level to compensate for a 200+ ping.
