  1. I'm a returning player, back in the game after a long hiatus (last content played was when Aivela/Esne was added). I have characters on both factions, though none currently have played through the Onslaught content, nor have reached level 75. I'm looking to get back into endgame content and Conquests, with some PVP and Starfighter mixed in.

I'm looking for a guild that has at least the following:

    - Focused on competing for conquest spots (Guild ship & SH, bonuses unlocked, etc.)

    - Endgame operations, gearing & crafting

    - Double-sided guild (having both factions guilded)

    - Discord server for communications and offline banter not critical but would be preferred.

    - Patient and willingness to help new or returning players get re-acclimated with the game.

There's probably more that I could get into but just getting my foot in the door to re-establish myself in the game, and get back into the team mindset would be great. If you'd like to know more about me, or want to ask me questions, please do not hesitate to message me!

  2. Hi folks, I've recently moved a bunch of toons over to Ebon Hawk (Harbinger was just getting too toxic for my liking), and I'm hoping to land somewhere that does a little bit of everything in the game. I'm not much of an RP'er, but wouldn't be opposed to getting back into it again. As for what I do, I do a little bit of everything. PVE, PVP, GSF, Conquests (big thing for me right now, as I still want to try and capture the last few planetary achievements that I don't have), operations, questing, helping out new players get comfortable.

I have a mix of toons on both Republic and Empire sides, so having a single home for both sides would be preferable. I also do Twitch streams on my channel from time to time (Riderpride639 is my Twitch handle if you want to look me up). So having fellow guild members who also stream or don't mind participating on my streams as well is also a plus.

  3. Man this thread blew up in a hurry. Okay, so after reading a handful of pages, and trying to discern where people are getting angry here, I may need some help in clarifying their positions. So from what I understand, they've now closed a loophole that allowed players to basically get a single crystal and circumvent the collection process and not have to pay CC's in order to unlock them on every character (which, understandably, Bioware wants to obtain revenue for, now that tunings are also affected).

But I see people complaining that they have paid for the unlocks and are inconvenienced by this whole thing now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you paid to unlock the crystal account wide, and you wanted to move that crystal....why wouldn't you just obtain another copy from your collections on the toon that you want it on? What am I missing here? I need a summary or something, because I'm extremely confused as to why people think that this is such a bad thing for them.

  4. So would this possibly be related to not being able to get onto Iokath? I just transferred a handful of toons to EH, been decorating SH's without much issue, and wanted to jump to Iokath to do stuff, but it just sits on a loading screen, then boots me to character select after a couple minutes of not moving.
  5. Kind of funny i just got a belt 246...i have 248 so i dont need it tho ...fix ur **** bio

What do they need to fix, exactly? Crates are not meant to be the primary source of gearing anymore, like they'd initially released. Gear can be obtained from all bosses in operations, like it should have been when 5.0 was released. As well you can earn (and subsequently pick and choose) gear through Unassembled Components via PVP and GSF (though the number of components you get I believe still needs to be increased slightly).

Command Crates are now a supplemental form of gearing. If you're only using crates to gear, then there's two things here. A) You're definitely doing it wrong. B) What are you doing in the game that you feel the need to have the best gear for?

  6. So i've recently returned to SWTOR and was really enjoying leveling thru the stories multiple times. Long story short, even after using xp bonus awards, I'm now a level 24 marauder going to alderaan, fighting level 29 mobs. Please bring back the exp bonus or story enjoyment is pretty well kaput. (I have no desire to repeat the planet storylines yet again, did that enough early on.)

You can also do group finder flashpoints, PVP, GSF and heroics to help boost levels. Quick question though, since you said you're underleveled going to Alderaan. Did you finish Tatooine first, before going to Alderaan? If not, then do Tat first, that'll get you up to snuff before hitting up Alderaan.

  7. Nope, Jindo is still bugged, ran into it about two days ago.

I think the problem with these bugs is that they do not happen with any consistency which would give way to an easier solution being found. Perhaps they do know of a fix, but when applied, it creates something else even more game breaking. We don't know what they're doing behind the scenes for these things.

As for the Jindo Krey fight, I remember reading somewhere else in these forums that it appears to happen when the DPS becomes a little too good, and pushes his internal phase clock (for lack of a better term) too quickly with regards to the ship. The other players' suggestions were to not go full on hardcore DPS for the first little while, allow the ship phases to do their thing, and once the ship goes down, then hit him full force.

  8. So since we pay for this time are we going to get something in return for the server being down the whole day! First we were robbed of a week of the new content and things like this take away subscription time that we pay for. That is theft!

Just an FYI, they are under no obligation to reimburse time lost. The expansion being delayed affected nothing, as it was not a paid-for expansion. You agreed to the ToS which states that servers may be unavailable for any reason. They have stolen nothing.

  9. I think you all forget we're talking about Boyd here. You just know Musco finally bothered him enough and the traitor will be Kai Zykken.

Or Boyd went with his heart and it's Jaxo.

At least one other person in this entire thread picked up on Kai Zykken. I didn't even get so much as a quote. Lost and forgotten. Zykken's new Empire will rise!

Also, Jaxo has an option of dying in the story, thus she couldn't be a viable choice.

  10. So there's a guy on Harbinger, Imperial Fleet, that's selling Twitch codes, basically he's mass-creating fake accounts to make Twitch accounts with, and signing them up for Amazon Prime to get the promo codes and selling them to players on fleet.

Something about this screams to me that it's against TOS/EULA. I've already reported him, just to be on the safe side, and let BW handle how that should be investigated, but I'm not overly well versed on the ins and outs of the game rules. Thoughts or insights?

  11. There should have been another mission that appeared in your quest log, I think it's called Final somethingorother, and it directs you to talk to someone on the fleet to start that questline. If you don't have the mission, check your mission log in case you hid it by mistake. Other than that, check the fleet for some purple quest markers and see if it turns up there.
  12. Well from the looks of things, I'm fairly certain it's one of two things. You may have been part of a merge (I don't recall when the last one happened), in which case, if you were moved to a destination server, the destination server name always takes priority, which could have forced the change.

Alternatively, there is a distinct possibility that it could have been reported for a violation (what that could be I have no idea. Maybe religious reasons, or someone who's more of a Diablo fan taking offense. I might be reaching here).

As for what you pay for, you pay for access to the servers. That's all. So to jump down their throats is a bit overdramatic and unnecessary. At the end of the day, these are pixels in a video game. Take a deep breath and relax. In the grand scheme of things, it's just a name.

  13. Not to be *that* guy, but... GTN

Ok, maybe to be *that* guy.

You beat me to it! And the other guy that mentioned that shift-clicking on the item auto-fills the full name in the search window also beat me to it, however I would like to add that in the case of certain items that have one or two-letter words in them (like 'of' for example, eg. Holocron of Fear), you have to click in the search field and remove the 1/2 letter word for the search function to light up. Kind of a silly nuisance, that. But not the most crippling of nuisances, thankfully.

  14. I've not heard anything about a new Star Wars MMO at all, but I do know that Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall 2) had a blog on their site about them working on a new Star Wars game as well. Since BF2 is with DICE and Criterion according to the Wiki, I'm curious to see what Respawn wants to cook up for a game as well, though as far as I know from what was told there, it appears to be a 3rd person game of some sort.

Guess we'll all just have to wait and see what may come of it.

  15. Yeah, this is a password reset, I had the same issue a couple of years ago, but after calling support, they were able to take care of it for me in the matter of a few short minutes.

And to echo what others have said before, yes, you can use Skype to make the outbound call rather than racking up your phone bill (it's not like a direct skype to skype connection, you're just using it in place of your normal phone and using an internet connection for it rather than a phone line.

  16. I'll be keeping an eye out for the mount as well. I missed the twitter post about it being the 18th, but *shrugs* it's a free pet, so I'm not gonna complain. I enjoy free stuff. On the other hand, this just continues to add to the amount of mail my new toons have to open when they're fresh lol.
  17. You clearly haven't read the patch notes. Take a look at what they say about loot drops in NiM operations. Each boss drops loot but ONLY the final boss of each ops drops the BiS gear.

In 5.2 PvP will still be the best way to get BiS gear and therefore many raiders will still feel they need to screw up warzones because they don't care about PvP but just want the components because BWA can't do a patch without sneaking in a messed up decision to ruin things again.

It was a bad idea of them to give PvP and PvE exactly the same gear and we will still be in the situation that BiS gear is a matter of time played in PvP and beating bosses in NiM which is rather more challenging will not be rewarded with this BiS gear.

Think about it. Sure some hardcore guilds will rush through NiM as usual. But the normal progression guilds that actually struggle in NiM will barely get any BiS gear for their efforts, basically pointing them at PvP to get their raid gear together. It's completely ****ed up and they sure as hell didn't mention this before.

That's not what the discussion was about though, the discussion was about adding unassembled components to Flashpoints and Uprisings.

  18. And you are assuming every PVE player does operations, not true. And even the ones who do, but stand no chance of getting in (or completing HM or NiM) operations have less alternatives than PVP'ers who can grind for 236 or 242 gear just by loosing unranked warzones.

And it seems rather selfish for someone to oppose a benefit for someone else so they can feel "special", especially when it poses no detriment to themselves.

I assume that the ones playing PVE content for the highest gear possible are ops players. If you're not doing operations, why do you need the gear then? If you stand no chance of getting into groups for HM/NIM content, that's likely on your group, not on your gear. You need better progression groups then.

As it is, you do SM operations to get enough gear to start doing HM content. You do the HM content to get gear to do NiM content. It's always been that way. As I said, come 5.2 it'll be even easier to gear up through operations due to guaranteed drops. Unassembled components are completely unnecessary in heroics/FP's/Uprisings.

  19. It would be awesome if unassembled components dropped in Flashpoints, Uprisings and other group PVE activities the same way they drop while doing PVP activities. In talking to many people in game, this seems to be a very popular idea!

I disagree. PVP players who don't do PVE have no way of obtaining the Unassembled pieces in their entirety, so the components are there to give them something to work towards and filling in the gear pieces as they need them (outside of whatever they also obtain in the crates).

With the way 5.2 is set up to be, this will be even less necessary, as gear tokens are now guaranteed on every boss, and sometime afterwards, you'll be able to obtain 230 gear from a vendor (I don't believe they set an ETA for this vendor to appear). While it may be a popular idea amongst your friends, I doubt PVP players would be happy with this, as the unassembled components system was designed for them for a reason.
