  1. I think you mean, to whom. Remember, too is used when you mean in addition to or in excess of something, as in, "I've had too much pie." or "I want some pie too!" and you never end a sentence with a preposition.

And I'm pretty sure it's your second option. You're waving goodbye to anyone who happens to be around. If you were waving for the shuttle you would wave a lot earlier I think, like right after you activate it.

    :csw_redsaber::csw_bluesaber:

Wow, you picked this post to provide an unsolicited grammar lesson?

  2. I keep hearing/reading hints (in-game chat, forums, devlog, etc.) that in 1.2 they are going to reitemize some of the current endgame gear (Rakata, BM, Champion, etc.). However, search as I might, I cannot find any actual information on what these changes might be. Are they replacing accuracy with some other stat on the mods for existing gear, or when I see these references are they only referring to the fact that armoring mods will not be removable on set prieces?

Any insight and links on this topic is greatly appreciated.

  3. Do you currently find that end game is to easy?

Yes and no. Generally I think they could have made the encounters tougher, but I think part of the perceived problem is that MMO gamers are just too practiced at this stuff and these raids were the entry level raids. I expect the next one to have a much steeping skill curve since there will still be EV and Karagga's for the entry level raiders.

Did you think the leveling was to quick?

    No.

Edit: Actually, yes, slightly. I was consistently outleveling planets due to Heroics and PvP, so I think they could either tune it down slightly or allow for parallel planets, so for example, I can do Alderann OR Tatooine and still be on pace. Then on the next character I can switch. I would not want the 1-50 to take significantly longer than it currently does, however.

Have you cleared all end game content on at least easy mode?

More or less (there may be a hardmore flashpoint or two I haven't done and I am not quite battlemaster yet), but this is largely due to having a quality guild to run with. I play "casual" hours, but when given the chance I am able to join a solid raid and clear EV/Karagga on Normal or Hardmode. I have not tried nightmare, and I'm not sure what you mean by easy mode ;).

Question from Evironrage I thought needed to be added

I have an additional question for the casuals. Would a more difficult lvling process have put you off from continuing to play?

This depends on what you mean by difficult. If you mean requiring higher skill, knowledge of rotations, use of CC, etc., then no I would not have been put off at all. I'd welcome the challenge.

If, on the other hand, you mean requiring more time to get to 50 or adding lots of annoying time sinks, like corpse runs, mobs that respawn too fast and require multiple clears, "go fetch" quests, etc., then I yes, I would have been put off.

Just curious as i'm not a casual player of mmos but a hardcore player that has unlimited game time. Since causals are taking over the mmo market i'm just curious if you guys think this mmo is way to easy, or if your happy with the current difficulty?

I do think this concept of "casuals" is trite, however. There are so many different kinds oif gamers, no one can agree on what a casual means anymore. Many people who consider themselves elite are casuals in someone else's eyes. And those that are truly "hardcore" and churn through content immediately can't be catered to anyway because there will never be enough for them.

Dont get me wrong I still love the game, i'm just hoping that operations start getting more challenging for people like myself.

I will agree that a spike in challenge on future ops should be a goal for BW.

    See above.

  4. You got the confirmation already. Pay more attention and stop asking Bioware to hold your hand while you play.

I am not asking Bioware for anything in this thread. I am merely seeking information that I have seen in the past but about which I cannot recall the exact details. Thus, I hoped someone on the forums would be helpful. But thanks for your predictable response.

Thank you very much Kapro and Nitro for the information. This is actually news to my ears (eyes?), and I'm glad to learn this policy. I didn't think they'd respond to a ticket of this sort and glad to hear I am wrong.

I asked this because I did the same thing as Kapro (bought Enforcer instead of Field Medic), but I was not going to petition Bioware to change any policies. I would have just lived with it due to the confirmation window if I hadn't recalled a dev post from about a month ago.

    Thanks again :)

  5. Well, I'm not sure they ever did implement anything other than the confirmation window. I swear I remember a dev saying someplace that they were going to have a mechanic to undo an accidental purchase, but maybe I'm misremembering. I'm just trying to get the info and can't find it anywhere, so turned here for help.
  6. I know we have confirmation windows now, but I was trying to recall what the devs implemented for undoing accidental purchases (if anything). I recall them stating that there was a way to do this, but I can't find it in the patch notes. Does anyone else remember? Thanks.
  7. Yeah, he's basically asking to customize his look. For example, Jedi Knight PVP gear makes us look like Samurai. I'm sorry, I realize Jedi are largely based on monks, samurai and other similar human traditions. But even being a Golden Samurai didn't really change my feelings about the armor. I look ridiculous. I may be strong and can destroy people with battlemaster gear. But at the cost of looking so cooky? I think not.

I hope the above poster who said 'its coming soon' is right. I need this. I will cry without it.

It definitely is coming and probably in 1.2. I don't have time to track down the dev posts about it, but I promise they have explicitely stated in several places they are going to allow you to place the armoring mods from set gear into other orange gear (along with the mods/enhancements, if you like) and keep the set bonuses. I.e. set bonuses will travel with the armoring mods, not the base item.

  8. This happens for everyone at some point with diplo. BW is definitely aware of it and I reported it several times back when I was leveling. You can take solace knowing that when you get to 10,000 rep it cleans up the math automatically capping you at 10k (i.e. the decimals go away). Granted for you, you'll need to get to 10,600 darkside to offset those lightside points, but that isn't hard. I was 10k way before level 50.
  9. I'm just guessing, but probably on Coruscant in the Senate Plaza. Go underground and all the way to the back by the bank on the left side of the Plaza (the side with the cantina). When you approach your bank vault (cargo hold, whatever), look in the nook on your immediate left. There is a social vendor in there.

If that one is selling Social 1 items, then I suggest looking in the cantina on Taris if you are Republic. It is in a building to to the left as you exit the spaceport in the first area/town. If you are Imperial, I'm not sure where the cantina on Balmorra is located, but it should be there.

  10. You can't have a companion out in Warzones or Ilum, so this is not a very important consideration.

That said, for world PvP before level 50, go with Risha. Corso and the Wookie aren't very useful (can't force enemy players to attack them) and you are a healer, so Guss isn't that helpful. You'll want to maximize the dps you are doing on the enemy player. I prefer Risha (ranged) to Akaavi (melee), but that's just me.

(This assumes that Risha is your best geared companion; if Corso, Akaavi, etc. vastly outgear her, then go with them).

  11. Also think about which gear slots you can easily equip with lvl 50 quality items right away, so that you can spend your comms on something else first. For me this included implants, ear, relic, etc, (and by luck I had a really good crafted hat). You can fill these slots with expertise gear later. Even with the comms you saved up to buy bags, you will not be able to afford very many pieces right away, so it behooves you to maximize your gear across the board (i.e. don't buy an implant with comms if you can craft one that is very good (but with PvE stats), where your boots will still be filled with lvl 42 mods because you ran out of comms to spend today).

As a note, I believe that the champion relic has expertise while the centurian does not. Thus, I sprung for the cmap relic as my first piece since the centurian one didn't upgrade me enough. I spent the centurian tokens on something else.

  12. Help me help you?

They have access to look at my account so they can tell exactly what quests can and cannot be abandoned. Maybe they should stop being lazy and expect us to do everything for them.

If I recall this issued was said to be fixed in some patch. Well some quests were but many were not so it wasnt fixed.

I people are complaining that quests can not be abandoned then they need to go through every quest in the game and not just the ones that we tell them about. Really how hard is it for them to do their job.

    Man hours.

If I were a dev and were trying to decide between (1) spending 100 hours of my time going through every quest and quecking the code looking for several needles in the haystack (during the second month of the game mind, when there are lots of things they could be fixing), or (2) spending 100 hours fixing something else where a higher % of my time is productive, which will I choose?

However, if they can fix something quickly because someone provided them information on where to target the problem (when that player had the information available and could convey it in 5 minutes time), then they just might do it and give the OP and others like them what they are asking for.

Again, I'm just making a suggestion. People are welcome to feel entitled, but it seems to me there is a way to speed up the desired results, at least as to this problem.

Anyway, I'm heading home, but these types of complaints have nagged me, and I wanted to add my two cents.

  13. This doesn't help. I've created three tickets including the above information. All the responses I've received have been "We forwarded this info to the appropriate people yada yada yada. We can't remove them from your log."

They know there's a problem. They fixed Tatooine bonus quests this week. I still can't abandon non-bonus Tatooine quests. I just don't understand how this can be so difficult to fix.

Make every single quest in the game abandonable. Problem fixed.

Well let me clarify that when I mentioned copying it into a report, I meant that in addition to creating a list on the forums. Get the maximum number of eyes on these particular quests. Yes they know there is a problem, but they might not be aware of each and every quest that needs this fix.

I'm not defending the situation, I'm just pointing out that I see people complain about this all the time, yet they never provide the kind of information that helps resolve the issue.

Someone should make a compendium of non-abandonable quests (the kind of thing that gets stickied and noticed by Bioware's forum readers).

Edit: it sounds like you posting a bug report did get this to the people that can fix something, even though the actual bug report reader couldn't instantly make the hotfix.

  14. There are quest that I can not abandon.

I prefer to not do quests after they fall into the green or grey and yet I have no choice. I now have NINE quest, ALL MULTI STAGE time consumers, that I can not abandon.

Which means that I am limited as to how many new quests I can pick up. Now I'm being FORCED to go back and drive all over these planets for a few hours to finish these useless quests.

    Please change this.

You should make a detailed post about which quests these are (name, planet, faction, level, etc.).

It's not enough to come here and complain about something without giving any specific details if you want them to fix the problem. I have never encountered this problem (but I know others who have) and I suspect the problem is is on a quest by quest basis, so they need these details.

Get others to list their un-droppable quests as well and make a compendium so the devs can know how where to go to target these quests.

Then copy your list of quests into a bug report to ensure extra exposure to people that can actually help.

People need to recognize the "help me help you" mentality goes a long way in getting solutions. *sigh*

  15. Why do people appear to believe that healers get more medals in WZ's? I have never seen this to be true, as healers usually get fewer than both dps and tanks when I view post-match standings. If they are hybrid and spend a lot of time dpsing, then this might be true, but if they focus on healing the op, then they rarely get more than 1-2 dps-based medals.

If anything, I think healers need some love in the medal department by awarding them kills for healing friendlies that are then making kills.

  16. Your explanation leaves something to be desired in that (a) I'm not clear what your axes represent or what your numbers are labeled as, (b) you provided no explanation for how you generated data, and © you have not explained your math.

I want to learn from your numbers, but you aren't making it user friendly, especially for those of us who haven't taken stat classes in a long time. Thanks.

  17. Take a look at this thread and read the responses from Kutsus.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=233931

Having given this a lot of thought when gearing for the first time at 50, I believe his observations to be accurate. That said, I am not usre if there is the possibility of negative resistances (i.e. below 0). If so, it doesn't appear to have a significant effect in that stacking crit, power, etc. creates better damage totals than stacking accuracy.

  18. Only one person needs to buy it, the others can reap the rewards.

The datacron remains available for a while after melting the ice around it. When I got it, I happened to stumble past it when some Imps were activating it (I'm Rep). I waited in stealth until they left, then got it myself without ever purchasing the item.

You should be a saint and announce in general chat when you and your friends are getting it so anyone in the area can benefit and save some money.

  19. I have a 50 guardian atm and 1 piece away from full champion gear so idk if is should just focus on him or keep playing my alt i just don't want to be so under powered that i cant get anywhere

Don't panic. You should play the class today before reading the patch notes and assuming the world is ending. Scoundrels are still fine and you should play whichever you like.

Peruse the forums and you will see that in some ways the nerf helped us in PvP. If you want to raid, I can't say anything for sure, but otherwise the pre-50 PvE should not be an issue for you. I kill plenty fast as a scrapper.

  20. In my opinion (assuming you are not getting harassed/stunned by other enemies and can fully unload on someone):

Load a Flechette Round (while in stealth)

    Shoot First (w/ K.O.)

    Backblast (while they are down)

    Dirty Kick

    Suckerpunch

    Blaster Whip

    Tendon Blast

    Vital Shot

Now rotate Backblast (w/ flechette round), Suckerpunch, and Blaster Whip as they come off cooldown, where you should use Suckerpunch more than the others due to Upper Hand procs. On occassion you may have to use a base attack or grenade due to lack of other options, and don't forget to refresh vital shot as necessary if it is a long fight (i.e. they are getting heals).

To the extent you can throw in a pugnacity somewhere (such as after the first Blaster Whip), do it, but I tend to wait until after they are dead unless I think I can't kill them in ~10 sec . You can use Pugnacity while back in stealth if you aren't pulled into combat by someone else.

I understand the arguments for saving the backblast (w/ flechette round DOT) for later, but I prefer to get that shot in when I know I can (because they are on the ground). If you are so inclined to maximize the flechette DOT uptime, I'd go as follows:

Load a Flechette Round (while in stealth)

    Shoot First (w/ K.O.)

    Blaster Whip

    Dirty Kick

    Backblast (w/ Flechette Round)

    Suckerpunch

    Tendon Blast

    Blaster Whip

    Vital Shot

    Suckerpunch

    etc.

This is probably slightly more efficient, but runs the risk of missing time on getting your backblast off if they are good (i.e. use their cc break on your dirty kick and then know how to position themselves to keep their back away from you).

I don't talent TB for the 2 second freeze because I find that slowing them down is enough for me (and talent points are useful elsewhere), thus, it can shift around in the later part of the rotation a bit more if they don't start running. I also don't prioritize vital shot, though you will want it up for sure once the flechette round(s) wear off.
