    My main is a Scoundrel healer our guild runs either me and a Sage or two Sages and we maintain our progress with either combo, i must stress we aren't a hardcore guild and are pretty much at EC hardmode.

     

    My main in WoW was also a Resto Druid and its very similar only ALOT more mobile. We have a similar resource to Commandos where the more energy we have the higher the regen so keeping it above 70 is important and when you need to throw out some burst you can sometimes find yourself at a loose end if "coolhead" is on cooldown. But saying that we effectivly have an infinate amount of resource and its much simpler than a Sage's to maintain.

     

    Saying that we really can't compete with the utility and AoE effectiveness of a Sage but both are viable.

    Hi there.

     

    I'm interested in other (experienced) scoundrel healers and their gear-related opinions.

    I used to go around with (TECH, not ranged) 39.75% crit, 78.38% surge, 605 bonus healing which was comprised of 715 power and around 1700 cunning.

    I've now however started changing enhancements/relic to a 38% crit, 75% surge, 680bonus healing with 932 power and 1792 cunning. I'm nearly done (almost have the relic, and need 1 more enhancement after that) and have yet to see the big effect, but I do feel like my heals have gone up a bit.

     

    Oh I forgot to mention Alacrity. I pushed it up to about 260 alacrity

     

    For those of you that have experimented with gear, what's your suggestion of the best set of stats to aim for? ( this is a question for the fully geared players ).

     

    My stats as follows using only class buffs (tech not ranged)

     

    (2153 Cunning, 452 Power) 853 bonus damage 613 bonus healing

    (308 Crit Rating) 38.41% crit chance

    (270 Surge) 75.32% crit multiplier

    (255 Alacrity) 12.09% activation speed or a 1.76 second Underworld Medicine cast time

     

    Im in Rakata shells with a mixture of Rakata and Black Hole modifications. I'm finding alot of gear with way too much surge and crit i just pick up whatever BH piece has the desired mod then butcher it. My Cunning is probably on the high side because i use all Cunning augments and no power and i think the diminishing returns doesn't rear its ugly head too much with cunning as much as it does with power. But to be honest like others have said the difference between cunning and power is quite small.

    I couldn't agree more. My main is a Scoundrel and i play him as the typical womanising, gambling, drinking joker that the Smuggler story really demands imo. I knew about the romances before and had planned to totally romance the hot although shallow criminal princess.

     

    However once i got Akaavi onboard my ship and really started to go through her story i couldn't help but warm to her in exactly the same way you did op. Beneath that cold hard exterior is a loyal, warm and to some degree lonely woman whom desires nothing more that a companion who she can trust and fall back on. When the two women had a confrontation over me i had a dilemma on my hands. Risha's character fit my Smuggler well and in reality he would have chose her. But my own heart and mind overruled that decision and i chose Akaavi.

     

    As you say kudos too whoever wrote her character and story because they did a brilliant job in making me, the audience ,really care about a fictional character and thats the sign of a job well done.

    Which companion is your favorite? Hotness wise and personality wise and usefulness

    Looks: Kira

     

    I love women with red/ginger hair, just give her some specs and i'm their :p

     

    Personality: Kira/Scourge (i can't choose they are so different, but in a good way)

     

    On the one hand you have Kira who is funny, cheeky and sarcastic but with a heart of gold. Scourge on the other hand may be darksided but he seems very wise and intelligent, i very much enjoyed my conversations with him. I think maybe the fact i read Revan months before this game was released helped as i couldn't wait to meet him

     

    Usefulness: Tharan

     

    A healer and probably the best interupt/mez in the whole game. He is the reason i finally beat Stark on my Sage even though he still had most of his Nar Shadaa gear on.

    Hands down has to be Taris (Republic side)

     

     

    The whole promised land quest line. Especially those who have played KotOR will know why. Its still the only world quest that i don't spacebar through after 3 lvl 50 toons. You helped those people find the promised land as Revan 300 years ago and now you see them dwindle down until they are all gone. The last holo withthat woman who can't even pronounce the words Toxic Radiation anymore, so sad :(

    I don't know if you have any disposable income OP but i really do recomend a Razor Naga mouse. I was the same, a bit of a clicker and not much good with my hands. But it really has transformed the way i play mmos. My left hand is free to use the movement keys, shift/ctrl modifier and targeting and thats it, no worrying about numbered keys as they are all on my mouse literally underneath my right thumb.

    Risha or Akaavi Romance?

    Like so many others here I rolled my Smuggler fully intending to pick the shallow option which is Risha. And although my Smuggler is a smug, arrogant womaniser my outlook has changed completely.

     

    Risha has the looks yes but thats it. She reminds me of the girls of My Super Sweet Sixteen. Totally and utterly self absorbed, shallow and materialistic. Sure she has the banter with my Smuggler but thats it.

     

    Akaavi on the other hand is the total opposite. As i've got to know her and pryed away that hard Mandalorian exterior i've found a deep, honest, respectful and mature woman. She actually has a nice face imo opinion aswell. Also she has one of the best voices in the game. The actress does a wonderful job of catching those emotions of her character. You can really see the contrast in her voice depending on the her mood.

     

    Ok i'll stop writing now as it looks like i have an infatuation for a computer game character :p when really i just find Akaavi to be up there with the best npc's in the whole game.

    ........Some sort of noise alert when Riposte procs?

     

     

    First appologies if this has been mentioned before. I'm just wandering as i've not long rolled a knight (i'll be a Guardian) and it would make life so much more conveniant i think if i didn't have to check during the heat of a battle if my Riposte is ready to fire. My main being Sawbones Scoundrel the noise i hear when upperhand has procced from a Slow Release Med Pack is very helpful for me and i'm wandering why BW didn't add it for Knights.
