  1. Sorry for the obvious reference but it's true.

At first glance it looks like bioware's fixing things multiple times a week--but they're actually taking down servers to fix ONE thing. One thing...seriously. Is that all they have time for now? Too busy making the next years worth of content to pay any attention to the numerous and horrendous problems that the forums are in literal uproar over every day?

They devoted two patch maintenances to barely tweaking the animation effects for hotbars. That's all they did. Are we to sit through another 200 maintenances of random, low importance, graphical nitpicks before they get to the mechanical aspects, such as some classes having talents not working?

How is this acceptable to anyone?

  2. You kidding me? They could make the worst expansion of all time, rehash everything, mirror every flashpoint and operation, change a couple textures, add 5 more cannons on capital ships in space battles, and make every romance option capable of branching off into a huge questline of gathering 1000 flowers for your companion which drop only 1% of the time on a raid boss in quantities of 5 that the entire OP must roll for and distribute, eventually leading up to a marriage ceremony, then a bonus series where you gathering 10,000 shiny pieces of jewlery in the same manner on the same raid bosses, which only leads to a kiss on the cheek and 50 affection, AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE BIODRONES ALONE WOULD KEEP THE GAME AFLOAT.
  3. I take it this is your first MMO? There are always classes that are horrible to other classes, and some that are insanely overpowered.

You just made the wrong decision in rolling your class.

Apparently. I want to know straight from Bioware how Scoundrel healing was supposed to work. As of right now we can't go below 60% energy or we hit the point of dead for energy return. We can't deal with spike damage because of this. We also have the worst thought out ability ever, Diagnostic Scan, a channeled, free heal that is negligible healing at best and is only use for letting our energy regen, but wait, we have to stand there like an idiot channeling, with a big green beam saying "OH HEY COME HERE AND INTERRUPT ME PLEASE". It's a useless ability and supposedly it's one of our most important according to bioware.

And you can't say the surge nerf isn't going to affect us the most, our damage already got nerfed before, now it's going to be neutered.

  4. You sound upset.

Very. You should see the veritable ****storm going on in the Scoundrel/Operative forums--It's Armageddon.

Apparently for Operatives one of their most important talents isn't working live and isn't being addressed in the next patch, thus REALLY hurting their healing. Not sure if Scoundrel has the same crapped out talent, but it's fairly obvious that Scoundrel healing needs an overhaul. But knowing bioware they won't put much effort in and just nerf Sages, thus causing an even bigger mess.

I mean what else are us Scoundrels/Operatives to do? We're completely useless. Bad healing, bad damage. There's no reason to take us over any other class.

  5. This is the main reason I created this post. You can already see this happening in the current game state. Groups turning down any healer but sage for end game raiding. Sure, Scoundrel can do it...that is not the issue. The issue is Sage can do it better and easier, creating a meta-game for everyone to just prefer Sage for top tier raids/PvP.

As the game progresses and harder operations are released, will the ceiling be hit for scoundrel? I think so, unless some sort of tweaks have been made to even the playing field with other healers. Posts made about utility, dps, mobility, etc. are good and all but the fact is if you spec 100% sawbones you should be able to compete with the other healing classes.

If you're smart you're sticking with your scoundrel then. You know bioware will overpower sawbones and make all the people playing sages cry by nerfing their own healing, the worst thing you could do right now is roll a Sage--trust me, the nerf is coming, it's just how MMO's work.

+ As far as I see Sage is easy mode healing. When the buff does come for Scoundrel, and it is coming, it's going to benefit you from playing through it in it's current state so you'll not only have the buffs on your side, but the skill to make Sawbones work for you at it's best.

  6. I always figured scoundrel healing was slightly sub-par to make up for the fact that they are really well armored, and can:

UNLOAD MASSIVE DAMAGE WHEN THEY ARE NOT HEALING!

I cannot tell you how many times I have gone around cleaning up lesser nuisance mobs easily and quickly with brutal melee attacks in order to make sure that I have to heal a LOT less damage.

remember, the best heal is the one you don't have to use because the mob is dead.

sage healers are a lot more like 'pure' healers. trooper healers are more like your paladins... healing and off-tanking as neccessary. Smuggler healers feel more like druids, in that the healing is a decent sort of party support tool, but they also dps almost as well as the pure DPS classes. Cuts in one area tend to make up for strengths in others.

This. A sawbones is not the stand back and heal type of healer--that is the Sage's calling. If anything the Scoundrel is a match to the Warrior Priest of Warhammer Online. You do best when you engage in combat while you heal.
