Too hard?

Now, let me preface by saying I'm a healer, so my ACTUAL experience with difficulty is minimal. I can solo 2 elites at a time quite literally without effort (I have a CC for one, if that broke I'd be in trouble, but I'd still stand a chance).

 

Anyways, my question: is this game just too hard?

 

I remember levels 1-10, certain fights without heals were just.... oh man, I must have died on the "Alpha V omega robot" or whatever on Tyhon like 4 times.

 

So as I level up more, I've been lucky enough to pick up a friend to level with, and we pretty much coast.

 

But occasionally we will do a 1 man quest and LITERALLY both say at the same time "....There's no way you could solo this...."

 

Aynways, reason I ask, the more I play, the less people are on my world. As it stands most worlds have 9-10

 

Any thoughts?

The quests you are talking about where both go "thres no way you could solo this" class related? I'm not sure here, but i have reason to believe that some class quests scale difficulty depending on how large a group is.

 

There was one knight quest i remember doing in beta that had the occasional elite, and when me (consular tank) and my buddy (smuggler healer) helped our knight friend out on it, we were facing spawns of 3 mobs.

 

 

Now this might have been something that happened from beta to launch, but i somehow doubt it.

Without someone to heal you or a healer pet of your own, you can frequently be toast, ime. Or someone else to share the damage with.

 

I'm running my SI Assassin as an off-tank and without someone to throw heals at me it can get damn close to the wire.

Fights got trivial once I got the healer companion for my assassin. Before that some quest fights were pretty involved. I soloed all of my class quests and 99% of the rest. The only fight that really was too tough for me at the right level was Zash. Edited by fro_do_fraggins

Thanks for the feedback guys I was just curious.

 

I'm mainly concerned beause I feel like the game is turning into a ghost town - 9 people in my city? Are you serious? At primetime it was 15.

 

I just am so scared this game is gonna fail when I love it so much. I don't wanna play a singleplayer game lol

That has to do with how the galaxy and planets are designed.

I have had the same issue, Some points at lv 20+ it would be simply imposible to solo some of the content. Often I have to kill all the additional mobs die then death probe. We are meant to be heroic not cannon fodder.

 

When facting a hundred foot droid yes 8 people should be needed to beat it but not faciing off against a couple of angry kids who think you killed their brother.

99% of my missions are done solo. I play a Marauder with DPS companion. As long as you can out DPS your enemy and use of the occasional stim/health pack you can slice thru these missions like butter. On occasion I'll have an elite take me down to 10% or so. I'll say that my most difficult time was in the mid levels.

Bounty Hunter here.. I solo'd all the way to 50.. did all the 2+man quests and a few 4man quests solo... Healer companion + stims and a little bit of thinking...

Over all, I don't think the game is too hard. I do think that certain classes have it a lot tougher than others but is likely mainly due to some balance issues with a few mobs within class stories and will likely be addressed.

 

I feel like that Bioware has their work cut out for them. Make the game too easy and they risk customer dissatisfaction but making it too hard risks the same. I don't envy them with this :)

The difficulty was upped a few times towards the end of the beta. Before then the game was pretty snoozefest. I think it's in a perfect spot right now.

The game is not too hard...my god my Ten year old plays she just helped my wife and I own hammer station on our alts.

 

Please stop saying the game is too hard I am the most casual of casuals and even I say it's fine.

Level 10 is designed to not be hard. You apparently haven't even gotten to the "hard" levels yet so your opinion is pretty irrelevant.

 

Please don't bother with your uneducated replies.

I think every quest in a phase (green wall) scales to group size. You get a message when you walk in saying something like "enemy reinforcements have arrived."

 

The game does get pretty hard at around level 30 though. As an Operative in those levels I really don't see how I could progress without a tank companion and me focus healing them. In fact I'm wondering if it's even possible for a Sniper to beat the light-side act 1 boss within the level range without bugging it out.

 

The game is easiest if you are a tank or at least heavy armor class with a healing companion, and only mildly difficult as a healer with a tank companion. As a DPS class you pretty much need to rely heavily on CC, but then I really don't know how any DPS class player can call 30+ boss elites "easy" unless they are outleveling the content through warzones or something.
