Are client/optimisation improvements on the way?

I know I'll get flamed for this post but here goes......

I have a Lenovo Y570, i7 with a NVIDIA 555m. I am able to get 30-50 fps with all settings on high except shadows (low) and AA x 4. The problem is I get really bad hitching or freezing. I can get smooth gameplay in windowed (fullscreen) mode but fps drops by 10-20 which can make the game almost unplayable. No matter how low the settings are the hitching/freezing persists in fullscreen mode, I was lucky enough to come across a post which suggested trying windowed (fullscreen). Before anyone asks my drivers are all up to date and I have tried the beta ones too.

Clearly this game has the potential to run quite well on laptops and lower end systems but it appears there are some issues requiring attention.

I have found many posts with people using mid-high range systems, both PCs and Laptops that are having performance issues with SWTOR. My question is not how can I make the game perform better but are performance improvements on the way? Is it a driver issue that NVIDIA need to fix?

I am hoping BIOWARE will post with some information addressing this issue which a quick search of Google will reveal many many people are having who have systmes that should breeze through the game.

Please reply BIOWARE.....acknowledge the issues and give us some info. You have made such a great game, we just need a little more optimisation.

Cheers :)

P.S let the flaming begin! "dont use a laptop for gaming" "your computer is crap" ect.

Yes I did but I found a way to force AA through an ini file which I cant remember how to do. Game looks great....its just the hitching/freezing which gets me, the funny thing is I had 540m in a dell xps 15 which did not have the same issue.

I only get stuttering in Imperial Fleet and i suspect that its server side. Honestly I'm realizing that even though the gt555m is a relatively great card for labtops, its not friendly with SWTOR.

I have not tried using full screen on other worlds coz I got the hitching in the fleet. Maybe I'll give it try somewhere else. And you are right, people who own the 555m all seem to be suffering poor performance for some reason. Oh well maybe the maintenance will see a fix or nvidia will release a new driver like they did for BF3. Edited by Delex

I downloaded the beta drivers, honestly they didn't show any noticable improvement. I was suffering from terrible fps for the first couple days then realized i was playing on power saver mode. Sadest realization i've had recently.
