Yes, I'll resub because...

I felt that I should just make a new thread for this because after I typed it up for another thread it was way too long.

The thread asked "Will you resub after your free month"

This is my answer:

Yes.

These are the facts.

(Disclaimer: I will be discussing WoW. If we're going to measure success, than there is no better success in the MMO world than World of Warcraft.)

1.) Guild Banks, LFG Systems and other things that are missing are missing in lieu of basic bugfixes, mastery of dialogue systems, mastery of questing layout and other mmo staples that this game took and made absolutely amazing.

That is not to say they won't get fixed. I'm 100% sure that, given the subscriptions can afford them the capability, they will be putting these systems in within the first 3 months.

2.) This game is to the MMO market today, what WoW was in 2004. When WoW came out it was buggy, it took forever to level, the questing system was nice (since it was really the first of it's kind) however it was sloppily put together.

The only reason that WoW was able to add so many "vital" MMO functions is because it was able to secure funds from 1million and then some around 2005-06. This enabled them to put the LFG system in the first place(along with 3 battlesgrounds, pvp points, pvp rewards, etc). Also because of other MMO's they were just stealing ideas. WAR came out with some great stuff and WoW said, "Sure, great idea. I'll just put it in my game." Other game than just WAR attributed to the success that WoW is.

This is not a negative thing by any means. The point is they only were able to do this because they got a secure money base very fast. A lot of people that were just blizzard fans, others that moved over from EQ and other big MMO's of the time.

I believe that this game is the successor to WoW. Not because it's absolutely flawless. It's not at all. I can play for 2 hrs and run into a bug pretty consistently. But i let it go. I stop judging it in a superficial light, and I realize, this really is a quality game.

The graphics (not the style, just the quality) are stellar, especially for an MMO. The animations are tight (thanks to motion capture). The questing system IS linear and it SHOULD be. That is how this game was advertised and that is what I expected. In fact, I think it's the best linear questing system I've ever seen. They have multiple ways of leveling. The experience received from Space Combat and PvP are retarded (in a good way).

The fact is, yes, there needs to be an LFG system long-term (and many other things that I've read complaints on GTN, etc.) but for what this game does do well, it does those things AMAZINGLY well.

This is a solid MMO, and I plan on investing a lot of money into this to help sustain what I think will be what MMOers are talking about in the next 5-6 years.

If you stuck with me till the end, thanks :).

Im leaving my SWTOR and 3 other WoW accs subbed. Why? Because I can.

Damn. lol.

That's cool. I'm not trying to say anything AGAINST WoW, just that I think this game is as good as WoW was for it's time in 2004.

Agree, disagree... whatever, just wanted to see what kinda conversation would spark up. /shrug.

I think you're seeing the forest for the trees here.

What WoW did was take a generally grindy, inaccessible genre and made it simpler and accessible.

There is a great core game here, and no matter what the QQers on the forums say, there are a lot of people who love it, flaws and all.

I'm liking it ...... so far...... that may change much like anygame that is coming out. It will have it's moments and disappointments.

TOR is a decent MMO and like most MMO's you will like or dislike it. I liked AIOn many didn't then the grind started to annoy me. I enjoyed WOW but didn't stick with it. I picked up every expansion but there really wasn't anything that grabbed my attention. I enjoyed WAR's PVP but the PVE was lackluster. I enjoyed champions online for it's character creation aspect until they went Free 2 play and simplified the character creation system unless you put out real money. EQ2 i didn't care for. GW was pretty good and enjoyed it because there wasn't a monthly fee and the class system was quite interesting.

I was expecting something at least different as far as the combat mechanics go. With the release of vindictus, Dragon age, and the upcoming TERA there is some new innovation to the genre.

As long as thing get patched on a regular basis and they add some itneresting things to the game without resorting to another 40-50 exapanion then yes I will resub.
