The problem with the bags is that they're intended to be:

"This bag has commendations for Centurion gear. You MIGHT get lucky and get a piece of Champion as a bonus."

But everyone looks at them like this:

"This bag has Champion gear. You MIGHT get screwed and get commendations as a slap in the face."

That is because the bags are the only way to get champion gear and champion gear is just straight up better than centurion gear.

So really the champion gear isn't the bonus it is the goal for people opening bags.

It's not the only way to get champion gear.

So about how many dailies and weeklys for battlemaster bags do you need to do then to get 1 piece of champion gear?

Seeing as the cheapest one is 24 champion tokens and the most expensive is 123 champion tokens it is probably a long time.

Pretty much this ... the bags should be called centurion bags.

After opening about 15 bags and getting an earpiece and a relic (lol) I found out my buddy that I pvp with got his pistol, offhand and 3 set pieces from 9 bags. Needless to say I wanted to punch an infant.

It's a bad system all around. It's overly complex, which is always a bad design decision. One issue that confuses me is you get champion bags, but they give centurion tokens (which is the next rank up). With those tokens you buy centurion gear. Ok, I get that much.

But how come there is no way to buy the CHAMPION gear you want? Why must it all be RNG generated? You can buy Centurion gear with tokens but not champion. Getting champion gear is all hit or miss luck.

And how do they do battlemaster? Do you get Centurion bags that have battlemaster tokens in them and random centurion gear? If so, that means you can buy centurion and BM gear you want once you get the tokens. This is not the case with champion -- it appears to be all RNG. Just doesn't make sense to me.

It would be easier to do what everyone else does: Make it so the three PvP vendors only allow you to buy from them at certain valor ranks. Make them all use the same currency (of course BM gear will be much more expensive than Champion). To me, this is simple and still makes the gear just as "difficult" and time consuming to get without making it a complex puzzle.

Guess if you want balanced gear aquirement and classes you will have to go play another game...

Bioware like many other mmo makers fail to appreciate that everyone pays the same for the game and thus should all expect to be treated thus.....

At least in upcoming mmo's this view is taken and all participants will receive gear of equal status relevant to their class

I thought the Infant punch was over the top until I found out that the baby got a full set of gear from 10 bags.

Bunch of whiny wow kids.

How freakin fast do you want full gear before you start whining about NOTHING TO PVP FOR??????

You get centurion gear - be happy with that.

There is a small chance of getting champion gear - be extra happy if you are lucky.

This is NOTHING compared to what it took to gear up in Aion for.

Don't be in such a rush to reach the end game PvP gear - once you have it then warzones will become meaningless and you will give up playing.

This is the worst part of PvP. I only just got started, but no loot whatsoever after 8 bags, just freaking tokens which I will be too afraid to spend out of fear that I'm getting exactly what I need the moment I open the next bag.

My suggestion: add a +X to the chance of a player getting a token after not having received one yet (like in party chat options) and a -X to the chance of it being the same item as the one you got before.

ps: worst part is that 3/4 of the people who get most items are also the worst players skillwise.

I loved Aion.

Everyone was on a level playing field when it came to gear... As long as they were in a good guild and could take forts.

Champion bags are lame. Centurion gear is TERRIBLE... My main complaint is that it's a luck based system. A rank 20 can out gear a rank 50 if they're lucky... Not cool.
