Confused on crafting

I still find it entirely amusing that the devs stated reason for this is because they said that crafting shouldn't be just watching a completion bar.

 

Since there is absolutely no player input into the crafting process itself, this is in fact exactly what they ended up with.

Then you completely miss the point.

 

1) Send your companion to craft

 

2) Run a Heroic 4+

 

3) Profit!

I'd have no problem with a system that allows you to have the companion craft, but with the option of having player skill increase the chance/frequency of a critical or other improvement.

 

As I said, they made it so that a completion bar is all you get when their stated goal was to not have crafting be a completion bar. Making it so I can do something else at the same time that the completion bar fills doesn't actually address the issue they raised as their reasoning for implementing it this way.
