rkopczak
I don't want to spoil much, but story wise we should be very rich. Founding lost treasures, robbing high value places, lot's of high profit options in dialogues, and we still get nothing at the end. I understand they wouldnt give us 100000000 credits for single quest, but come on we should at least get something, except "now you are very rich person Captain". BioWare could make it more beliavable, like make us most unfortunate smuggler in the world, and we would always lose it somehow, or make story where we are gathering credits for something really important, but instead they made worst case scenario - just imagine you got something. One other idea is to make smuggler passive - like 5% to credits gain or something, not gamebraking, but something extra on the side Edited January 1, 2012 by rkopczak
Flipluck
I know how you feel, without giving away any spoilers were promised riches/secret treasures throughout our main story quest. I decided to play the smuggler because i thought i would be smuggling items through out the universe making loads of money. Instead I'm at level 46 struggling to earn 210k for speeder rank 2. I get it would be unfair for one class to make more money than the other. But our class centers around making money it would be nice to have some kind of acknowledgment/reward instead of being told i'm rich when im broke as hell. Indica
Plus all the nice conversation options about more money yet all we get is chump change. That huge ship and nothing to use it for, doesn't really feel like a smuggler. But the missions do pay ok. I have been spending a fortune on leveling my crafting skill to 250 and just made 50K running a few missions on Tatooine. I hope there is a real money sink for lvl 50 because once I have my crafting at 400 that expense will drop and money will not mean a thing. Vecsus
None of the dialogue choices about getting paid make one bit of difference. We can all pretend that we're ruthless smugglers just looking to make a profit but the silly trooper chump that runs the same mission gets the same payout. While we are on the subject of money....why is it that we save the life of a king and get 350 creds and a crappy green-quality item yet a single healing stim from the vendor costs 1250 creds? BW has an odd sense of scale.

ForceChuckle
I totally agree. At least one more zero behind that figure on the king's reward. That quest on Hoth had me puzzled. Didn't she say we were welcome to whatever was on that shuttle? Class quests are pretty important. People prioritize them often to the exclusion of other missions. Lets see them reasonably rewarded. ZeroPlus
Personally, I would have loved it if they upgraded our ship. Spoiler tagging, just in case... Think about it: 1) When we get our ship back from Skavak, dialogs appear to indicate that he has pimped it out. However, it is just as devoid of ship upgrades as any other player ship. 2) You spend half of Chapter 1 getting upgrades for your ship. However, none of those upgrades actually show up on your ship. The smuggler lives and dies by his ship (at least, lore wise) so I would have seen no problem with having "our" ship having level 1 upgrades in all slots from the get go and at the end of Chapter 1 having some of those slots (the ones relative to the quest line) upgraded to level 2. Nothing major, but it would have been in keeping with the "story".
Mountebank
I'd love it if there were class-specific dailies. Like running a blockade, or smuggling something through customs, or taking a shortcut through pirate territory and repelling invaders, or some sort of con job (a la Kansas City Shuffle), or some kind of 'Shuffle' scenario (where you consecutively trade one item for another, traveling all over whilst hijinx ensue, until you get a final item that's worth a lot to a particular person or in a particular market). These dailies would be random each day, but could really help you feel like more of a smuggler.
Rhudian
The reason your smuggler isn't rich is because mine is--there was only one Nok Drayen, and your character was not the one to bring him back from the dead in order to kill him and claim his treasure. You just played through a simulation based upon the actual events that my character went through. You are free to contest my warped perception of in-game reality when your character is a billionaire. DarthOvertone
I don't want to spoil much, but story wise we should be very rich. I posted something similar on these Forums when I ran through that part of the story. I'm glad to have Risha, love that girl, but I want my monies too! Plus all the nice conversation options about more money yet all we get is chump change. Was some sort of Stim smuggling ring my Scoundrel got involved in. He was supposed to pull down riches beyond measure. I got an email from an NPC stating the stuff sold like wildfire. My reward? Was like 1,500 credits. lawl I have Level 5 Archaeology missions that cost more than that.

I like the one where a wealthy land owner pays me for not taking his ancient artifact...200 credits, about 1/200th the price of a 0.7 horsepower minibike lesson.
