Rokozo
I try keep this short, as I can't comment on the actual launch as I wasn't there, anyway, I would like to put my own view on the actual game as a long time WoW player with more than 300 days played, but quit it a while ago. So far I've only devoted a couple of hours in the game so my view is still quite narrow one, however, I've already noticed so many similar things to WoW that it's having a huge impact on my interest on the game, in a negative way. When I've been there, hooked up in a MMO, doing all those grinds already for insane amount of hours I'm not sure if I want go down that road again. I love the theme of Star Wars very very much, and that will keep me going till I figure out if the games becomes too much about grinding, then it shall be end for me. If Star Wars is focused too much on solo play and not trying to force players to create social network, and has many hour grinds then it shall be end for me. Quaade
The launch itself seemes smooth and solid, however it's not the launch that the game will ultimately be judged on, it's the content of the game which isn't very smooth and solid. VA only gives so much and it doesn't have any effect on how you spend 90% of the time playing the game, namely interacting with the environment in various way to destroy, kill or dismantle eneme objects. Shearing away the voice acting what you have is a game that has regressed from the standards of 2004 when blizzard stumbled onto the market and to everyone's surprise, including themselves, became a massive hit. Blizzard had a bad launch due to the insane popularity which taxed servers and the game far beyond what anyone had expected or even dreamt possible in those days. However, the gameworld itself was smooth and very solid and people stuck around for the bugs to and other kinks to be cleared out. In TOR you have the opposite which doesn't give many people an incentive to stick around for things to get fixed since their frustrations comes from the game itself and not the platform it runs on.
