Would you say SWTOR launch was successful?

Yes and yes.

Solid gameplay. Needs some tweaking. It's not without issues, but I expect that the devs will patch a lot of the real problems. I personally don't have any issues witht he UI, but many do. Others have had issues with charachter response time for high-level PVP. But TBH, I havent noticed it as of yet myself.

And please remember, the game starts at Level 1. Not at end-game, like some other MMOs.

Definitely feel like it launched successfully. No launch is going to be 100% smooth, it's never happened before now and it probably won't ever happen. There will always be bugs, there will always been down times and I think most people forget that these things are completely normal.

Sure the game was " playable " at launch. Do I think it was successful?

God no.

The amount of bugs in the game not even allowing people to actually play, yea that doesnt really bode well with me.

It was rushed, over hyped, not carefully planned.

I mean really, the thing they are most proud of is the voice acting? That alone right there is red flags. Who really cares about voices you'll hear once telling a story that you will most likely just skip through anyway.

Big Fail. Wish I could get a complete refund.

Thank god I already cancelled my sub so they dont get anymore of my money.

Even when and if they fix the entire game, I wont be coming back.

The actual launch in terms of stability was good.

The actual launch in terms of how it was handled was incredibly poor. Because of the way early access was distributed, friends leveled way ahead of friends by the time they got their access.

The actual game itself. Hmm, well storyline is the main distinguishing feature between this and WoW. Story becomes a non factor at end game, the game becomes like everything other MMO out there. To me that doesn't mean anything.

You could argue that the other distinguishing factors are the crafting and the companion system. The actual crafting system is good, but there's so few recipes that it pretty much turns to garbage because it's not fleshed out. Companions are good or bad depending on who you are. Some people (like myself) feel like it is just a glorified pet system and I don't always feel like playing a pet class.

Besides those 3 things. The game is basically WoW missing the more modern and important features.

TL;DR: expect F2P in the next 2 years, max.

I should have known from how ****** DA2 was that the company was going down hill.

Funny I have played just fine and see ton of other playing just fine. I agree if you are unable to play then that is very bad. However I think you are just a liar. I think you can play just fine. I do think you may be be upset with some issue (like not being able to sit in chairs, or swim, or chat bubbles) and feel like BW hates you because you were their biggest fan and all. None of which means you cant play.

It's pretty much EXACTLY like the launch of all the major (wanted to be major anyway) mmos launched in the last 6 or 7 years, and given that just like those other games BW has started off apparently thinking that big initial numbers means success already, and thus apparently think they're already the cat's meow and don't need to give the players what they want, and so have said no to extremely desired features way way more than they've said yes, then it unfortunately (and I mean that. I wanted it to be a huge success) looks like it's headed for the same also-ran bone yard.

Holy run on sentences Batman!

lvl 31 Jedi Sage (defender)

I have to say. My experience thus far has been absolutely amazing. I do however find the difference between the in game community (good) and the forum community (bad) pretty disturbing. All though both have there exceptions.

I am not exactly a seasoned MMO player. I have played CoH, WoW, SWG, EQ, and the realm. I have to say out of all those experiences this one is my favorite.

Sure there are bugs here and there and the lack of UI customization is kind of lame. But I think with any MMO time is power. And I think in the coming months a lot of these issues will be addressed.

I haven't hit any game breaking bugs yet though apparently some do exist. I am sure in time these will be sorted out as well.

I do worry about the state of end game as I am quickly approaching it. But again... In time I am hoping it all gets worked out.

I think BIOWARE has done an amazing job and all of my hours sunk into this game have been absolutely enjoyable. I am sorry for anyone who doesn't feel the same.

I also hope in the coming months that all the cry babies see there way out.
