I am curious if any Shield Spec Vanguards killed General Rakton by themselves...Im 50, throwing everything I have at his adds but they just sit and heal each other over and over again...Just curious if anyone else was able to defeat this fight as a Shield Spec Vanguard and how ya did it...

Heh 5 tries later I got it, but more from dumb luck than anything...should never have to fight 2 healing mobs with limited CC...bad call Bioware...

As a hint to those who haven't gotten there yet gear your Yuun during Corellia and use him - worked alot better lol :p

Awful awful encounter for any tank specced vanguard. You've got to be REALLY on the ball with interrupts to even remotely have a chance, going dps and using a dps pet and just burning one down like crazy then wiping should also work, but really this fight was just awful. the worst part was knowing that as a commando you could just CC one and be done with it.

I managed it.

My HP did get a little low, but I worked it out. I just rotated my own CC: Cryo grenade, Riot Strike, Neutral Surge, and Storm whenever I saw them trying to heal each other. At which point, I just focused my fire on one.

Luckily, there was a lot of places I could run behind and make them lose their charge up.

I was originally planning to just lure them to my allies outside...and then I realized "I got this" and took care of it.

After that, taking care of Rakton was a piece of cake.

I just hid behind a console whenever he tried to charge up and threw everything I had at him. Worked out pretty well in the end. Ended up killing him with Storm + Gut. It was satisfying.

And then I executed him.

Because he killed Jaxo and I tell myself that he had an indirect hand at making Havoc defect (even though he was never mentioned in it) which in turn forced me to kill Wraith. So I just...THREW ALL OF MY PENT UP RAGE AT HIM!!!

ALL OF MY HATE!!!!!!!!!!

>: (

So yeah...no mercy from me. Not this time. I gave Rakton one chance to surrender (because my Trooper is a good guy like that), he didn't take it, so I killed him (Because my Trooper is also a ******). I was all out of kindness at that point.

It's not that hard at all, just interrupt the heals.

-Storm interrupts. The mobs make it even easier for you by knocking you back, so you can storm right back in to interrupt.

-Your Riot Strike interrupts. By the time the guy you Riot Striked casts his heal again it will be up again.

-Neural Surge stuns, thus interrupts.

-Your Cryo Grenade interrupts.

-Elera's Carbonize Stream interrupts.

The fight took a while, but I had 100% health and all my emergency cooldowns left when it ended. Maybe they nerfed them recently, but it was very easy for me (and I'm not wearing any fancy gear either.)

shield/assault hybrid build with Aric, but I expect shield would do it exactly same, as I didn't do any HIB proc rotation until the first one died.

Done it on the first try with most of my HP intact. Screwed up considerably, but I managed to get one AoE stun off to interrupt both heals at once.

They both casted one heal each before the first one died.

I'm 31 points into shield spec and had Elara with me... I don't know what you guys are talking about, this battle was EASY! I just grouped the two elites guards together, used Ion Cannon whenever it was available, and wailed on one of them, using my Riot Strike whenever he started casting a heal. Took a little while, but i took both of them down easily on the first try. And General Rakton was a joke. never got me down below 80% health.
