What happens when security keys break?

What happens if, say you lose your security key, or it breaks, or the batteries run out, as I see no way to replace them?

I haven't had a problem yet, but it kind of worries me a bit that if anything happens to this little piece of plastic, I wont be able to play my game.

The batteries in it will last for years, I think I heard seven somewhere. I used to have one of those old-school RSA fobs for work, and that thing just kept going for years and lots of abuse.

I'd suggest being careful not to put it in the wash and you should be OK. If you need to replace it with another or delink your account you'll have to contact customer support- at least for now. From what I gather, they're working on a better way to self-manage your security keys, but that has to be very carefully approached, for obvious reasons.

When I updated my Iphone 3gs to the 4, I forgot to remove my authenticator before I formatted the 3gs. I had to call CS and they had me read off the security keys of my game and expansions. They removed the old one for me and then I put a new one on the 4.

This was in WoW btw.

This is just hearsay, but I have heard that the process to get a problem like this fixed with TOR is considerably more arduous. There was a thread or two about it.....but since they don't have a search function on the forums here (and since the moderators control the content on these forums with an iron fist), it might be hard to find. :[
