I'm just tired of seeing so many people automatically defend this game without actually sitting there and thinking long and hard at the problems people point out, i see this in every failed mmo in the past on the forums. You have the people who know what makes the game better voice there opinion and they are instantly branded a wow fanboi, whilst the fanboi's totally ignore anything constructive mentioned.

 

This game has alot of issues, it also has alot of potential, but you know what, that potential is starting to run out. Sure the game has only been out a while, but lets look at the PR on the forums, we get hardly any feedback to logical issues mentioned in many many threads, we get a patch which fixes nothing important last night and we have all these fanboi's pulling statistic's from thin air, claiming only 3% of us make up for the whiner's, sorry bro but you are soso wrong.

 

I like many other's am not a fanboi to any game, i play a wealth of games online and have done so for many years, i play a "good" game and enjoy it, and if i see something seriously wrong with the game, i for one will point it out.

 

Shards, not needed, killed almost every game it's been in, fact.

chat bubbles? dont really care about them tbh, but fact that /say chat is same font color as /general just blows my mind, how hard would it be to change /say to white? no sit there for a minute and dont be a fanboi, how hard would it be to make /say white font without "us" having to do it on each character. ok good.

 

Delay with spells, it's been mentioned before and some people just dont see the issue, obviously not competitive players because anyone with alot of gaming experience can feel/see it after 5 min's of gameplay. again sit there and actually think, do you know what you are talking about when you are one of the very people saying " i haz i7 12gigram hd6970x2 and i haz no delay with 1billion fps" this wont sink into them people, ok fair enough.

 

Ambiance, this goes back to sharding, there is a severe lack of ambiance in this game, i mean i expected a lush enviroment with all sorts of sound effects and packed mobs, yet the fanboi's seem to think nono, i actually like all the open space with just a few mobs every now and then, ok fine in a single player game, not fine in a mmo. This game lacks serious ambiance, i go into a city and it feels like a ghost town, going to argue with me about that? then you sir are ignorant.

 

Bolster system, just wow.... i mean again you have the fanboi's who defend it, and say silly things like, bolster is awesome! it works perfect, then someone like me will say, how can a lvl 18 compete with a lvl 50 when i have only a few of my skills trained and they have all CC's,Stuns,Interupts etc.. the average fanboi's response " dont do pvp until you are around lvl 25" just no! Add brackets, simple and while you are at it, add a damn selection of the warzone because i for one do not like huttball, the map is far to small and any team with half a brain just pass's it to a inquis/cons and they sprint to finish line, huttball feels like WSG to me, but map size difference is huge.

 

Story mode, ok this one is a hit or miss, for me it's a miss, i have leveled several alt's up past lvl 25 now my main is like 35? and im seriously sick of the story modes, i mean ok fine you love the story? great, do not tell me that this game is for people who enjoy story because this is NOT a single player game, if i want story i replay skyrim again which was epic, they could easily fix it... add a feature to disable story mode and instead just bring up a scroll with mission objectives, sorted. as for flashpoints/operations, just remove story from them and have scroll type come up, i cant imagine a year from now ANYONE will be all into the story of same repeated garbage, but of course the fanboi's will disagree. I have watched the starwar movies over my lifetime probobly over 10 times, but to sit there and say nono but dude, watch them 200 times, it becomes fun.. no just no.

 

Anyways im sure there is alot more things i could rant about, but i seriously just want all the people defending this game without putting any logic into there defence to sit back just think alittle before typing, this game needs a voice, it needs people to step up and show bioware this and that must be added/fixed, otherwise it will become another death sentence and not because of what bioware have done, but because what they didnt do due to the small minority of fanboi's always sitting in threads defending every single rant.

Also, I have thought long and hard about the in game issues. I don't see your point though. I don't think any of these points take away from my experience at large, and am willing to wait until they are resolved. I will not request fixes be made immediately, as such a silly mentality would probably make things worse, as the 'quick fix' could be much worse than what is currently going on.

Since when is the developer's experience an indication of the game's quality? There are plenty of games out there made by brand new teams that rival AAA games.

 

The whole "they're inexperienced, give it time" mentality is a cop-out. If we have to accept a lesser product because they aren't experienced, they shouldn't be charging prices as if they were.

Again it is excatly people like you i was speaking off, to say that you are fine and dandy and happy to wait month's for several fix's is just being ignorant to the fact. you know ive see the same rubish responses from aoc/rift/war fan's and guess what, they all crashed and burnt.. this game isnt made in some small 1 bedroom appartment with 4 linux based pc's and a few guys starting out in college, its a multi million dollar operation and as such the fixes need to happen, have you not seen last night's patch notes, can you honestly say they where needed and good for the game? really? can someone be so ignorant? really? if so, im just floored.

There is a lot of presumption in this statement. AND it disregards the fact that most negative thread are not constructive criticisms, but rather self-interested /rants with little substance or objectivity. The truly constructive criticism threads do pretty well in this forum, UNTIL the /haters jump in and smear bantha doo doo all over the thread.

Personally, I like the game, I find very few issues with the current state of the game (it is afterall in it's initial launch), and certainly nothing "game breaking" so far. I look forward to the many improvements and feature and content adds they will do over the coming months (just like every other MMO since the dawn of MMOs, all of which has issues and features that some of the player base /ranted about).

You complain about the 'story' of the game. This game was 'advertized' as a story driven MMO. You purchased an MMO that was intended to be heavily story driven and your complaining about their being too many story scenes?

 

I'm not going to mindlessly defend the game, because there are some issues that are quite annoying. None of them, to me, are gamebreaking 'yet' but they are issues.

 

I just find you complaining about something that was a huge selling point for this game to be utterly ridiculous.

Hey i like the game aswell, i havent decided if im cancelling my sub just yet, what i do mind is "numbers" this is my biggest worry right now, i personally see the game drop a huge sub's due to several issues, and the PR is horrid, we get hardly any feedback or updates about the future. I'm sure alot of people will be happy if this game ends up with 10,000 active subs, i personally would prefer a much bigger number, big number's bring more cash, more cash can only bring better features which cost more cash to invest.

Funny thing is, that in a couple of weeks or months at most, a large percentage of the fanbois will start to hate this game. I'm currently enjoying this game, but I can see all the problems it has and I know for certain, that I won't enjoy this game a month or two from now. It would be fine in case of a single player game, that you finish and move on, but this is an MMO.

 

 

You will get there, for me it was trying to level in 50 only to face constant 50 premades in pvp gear that just roll you then farm you. I feel like I wasted my time since 2008

 

But nah, gabe from warhammer has this PVP ON LOCK YO, bolstering 'works'.

While i accept this was advertised as a story driven mmo, i do not understand why we do not have an option to turn it off, and to add story into flashpoints/dungeons just eludes me.. can you honestly see any serious hardcore well known world wide raiding guild come from this game? im talking guys who will get paid to play this game and be at tourny events and such? i really cant, not aslong as it consists of waiting.... waiting.... waiting.... it's just not needed.

Please dont use the 'Story Driven' gimmick as an excuse, all MMOs have story, the story finishes at 48-50, what then? Wait for an expac? 'Story driven' means nothing to me, ok the story was decent, but it was stil la grind like every other MMO. Meat and Veg is the endgame, always.

I read the first line and thought "look, another post highlighting the fact that people living in pampered countries really have it to easy". A wall of text over a game? Sheesh, go outside. I'm not a fanboy, this crap is getting old fast. WE KNOW YOU ARE NOT HAPPY!!!

 

Oh, and before you spend time telling me i need to think about this game, and where it stands, I have. Using MY experience from MMO's, I've concluded that this is a pretty solid game. *gasp* My opinion is different than yours. I must be a blind fanboy who cannot think. This is, after all, the point of your pointless rant? Those who like the game and disagree with you are obviously to stupid to think it through.
