Punished for being a healer in warzones?

Medal awards. There are two for healing. So if I go, full support healing, in lets say Hutball, since its the most common, I will get 2 medal most of the time, 3 if I get a lucky killing blow.

 

As a dps, I am getting 6 most of the time in comparison, even 7.

 

This is discouraging halers in general, myself included, since I get less farm for doing more.

+100, this really needs to be addressed.

 

 

Not to mention, for some reason I can have like 2x the heals as the top dps on our team and i won't get a single MVP vote :S

 

 

IMO to compensate they should give medals for things like healing a single person for 10k in one life, or saving somebody at 10% health or less. Stuff to compensate for the lack of kills we healers get.

2.5k heal,5k heal, 75k healing 300k healing... You were saying? You can still get KB and if you hit an enemy once you can get the 10 and 25 kill medals. Just harder to get 1v1 because fights are longer and someone will tag your kill. I usually get 75k medal in longer games (DMG).

 

It doesn't take to much effort to get 5-7 medals, this at 50 however.

The biggest problem with Healing medals isn't the quantity. Because Kill X players and KB are pretty universal its that 5k and 300k are at times difficult to obtain. If you play with a group of friends who are, lets say, Tryhards there are games where There is Literally not enough damage happening to my teammates for me to earn Medals before we win. Meanwhile Darth Assassin Tank has like 7 FROWNY FACE GOES HERE

it's too harsh to say that we are punished of being healers in WZs, but rather that we are not encouraged to be healers.

 

I'd like to see medals like:

 

Savior - Heal an ally from <10% to >50%

 

Guardian angel - Heal a single ally for over 30k and neither of you die.

 

Multitasker - Heal two allies for over 30k and none of you die.

 

The Backup - Assist in 15 kills (have effectively healed the killer in the last 10 seconds before making a killing blow)

 

Power Coupling - Assist an ally killing 15 enemies when she is guarding you.

 

EDIT:

 

Triage - Dispel 30 negative effects on players in the first 3 seconds of affecting an ally.

Playing a full healing specced Sage, not even in my 30's yet and I consisently land in the top 5 in every match I've played with that character. There's nothing wrong with the healing spec during PvP. I get 1-3 medals if I'm doing kinda crap that round and I'll get 4-6 on average.

 

I can match Sorcs for damage no problem and have won plenty of 1v1 despite that not being the intended role of the class.

You didn't get my post. I know getting medals isn't hard, BUT instead of doing 75k dmg and tagging people for kills, you could actualy be doing something the team needs,ie heal the ball carrier.

This is true for any class/role if you focus on winning / objectives you will do less healing/DMG/protection, SWTOR needs to reward objective play Alderaan does this other WZ don't (defender medals). I get a single objective medal in huttball seldomly KB on ball carrier I believe.
