Give me Vengeance-Juggernaut tips (FPVOD)

A melee dot tree, which is the vengeance spec, doesn't seem very useful since applying all of your dots to a target requires staying on them, building up sunder stacks, and not getting peeled at all because if your stacks fall off you have to start all over.

 

Not your fault of course, now the immortal spec actually does manage to hit pretty hard along with several cc's and defensive cd's, I've crit pretty high with my crushing blow and with that and one sunder I have 5 stacks in two gcd's. But if you are insistent it seems like your best bet is to slow and snare targets around you while spreading dots as best you can. Immortal might suit you better with it's variety of damage, defense, and utility, have you tried Rage yet though? I haven't, just wondering if it's any good.

 

As for your targeting, granted tab targeting in this game is a little wonky, but aside from paying better attention I don't know what to say.

 

Edit: Don't discount peeling and snaring. The low cost aoe slow is awesome, sometimes just making the other team miserable is good enough.

lool. ur camera speed is way way way waaaaaaaaaaayyy to fast and vtw you dont know how to play :eek:

 

Because of ur camera speed I dont even know what you are doing...

 

really? my camera rotation speed is literally at 1% on the controls in preferences idk what else to do besides turn mouse sensitivity down which would slow down other things as well

Consider a new build, vengeance can do damage, but you need more aoe and burst. Plus, taunts and guard are very good in this game.

It works well. It has the no cost aoe slow, guard, taunt, and very good burst.

Here is a single first person perspective of my vengeance juggernaut in hutball and aside from an occasional level 14 I kill, I feel like I am largely useless to my team who does most of the scoring and killing/healing while I sort of just slow things and try to peel one thing at a time. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

 

 

Also, I don't know if you can tell but i have massive targeting issues sometimes and end up just running around my target without actually hitting them because for some reason I'm targeting an enemy several meters away mashing my buttons thinking I'm targeting the guy in front of me, any tips on how to fix this?

 

Ima type this up as a Guardian. In pvp we seem to not be the 1v1 kill type of person. We are ment to dominate team fights, and we do a damn good job of it.

 

As a Guardian, I wait for a team fight to start, guard whoever has the least hp(that usually means they are being focused) tab target and taunt. From there I just force sweep whenever its off CD and if there is a large group of Red names around me, I use Challenging Call (AoE Taunt). I know I've been searching for single target damage but I dont think that's what our classes are ment to do.

 

Do I like my role? No.

Do I understand my role and play my part? Yes

I disagree, tank jugg/guardian with our low cost slow we are able to keep our target snared and stay on them, a good amount of stuns, lots of durability, I manage to take down most of my targets, including level 50 ones, without going below 50% hp and in the case of 1v2 or 1v3 I can usually last long enough for help to arrive while making sure they don't capture any objectives.

I tend to do the same but we are also able to lockdown a healer pretty well solo, while they are trying to focus a target we can interrupt, force choke when they try to cast again, and by then the interrupt is usually off CD again and they will need to heal themselves rather than the target they were focusing, leaving your team to kill the other people while you're on the healer.

I wont deny that we have the ability to fight 1v1 but it just seems like, as a class, we were designed first and foremost for the team fight. To jump in the middle, guard someone, taunt an enemy, and force stasis a healer then force sweep him and the guy he was trying to heal.

I have yet to protect someone outside of Intercede in a BG and do amazing.

 

Please try to remember that this isn't your every day class trilogy, but more of a role trilogy.

May be a stupid question, but does shatter dmg increase with sunder stacks?

 

No - flat dmg+dot

 

But if you look at it this way - ALL damage increases with sunder armor stacks (the target has less armor)

who said anything about a trilogy? Im not specifically saying guard everyone you come across(i don't see why you wouldn't though, its the easiest 3 commendations I've ever seen). I just said our class was more geared to be a team fighter, to excel at AoEing not only damage but damage mitigation in a team fight. How many times have you seen a guardian controlling a team fight with Call, taunt, guard, freezing force, ect. Probably never, but when you do I can assure you it's not subtle and its pretty annoying when All of your damage is lowered by 50% or more.

 

on a side note: just wait till I can do a Target of target macro for guard, good luck killing anyone that isnt me
