thestackshow
Whos idea was it to PERMANENTLY require \ to be binded to open/create a help ticket, a window pops up that you HAVE to manually mouse over to exit two screens. Its RIGHT ABOVE THE ENTER KEY. Dear god, this happens dozens of times a day the worst times, seriously why did you not give us the option to de-bind this travesty? I am BEYOND annoyed! Seriously? The key right above the enter key? Please fix this in the upcoming patch and let us de-bind this. Its infuriating.

Yeah I don't know how many times I have it it, and more often than not I can't close the ticket screen AT ALL and I have to Ctl-Alt-Delete and wait in the que again. HELhikari
You can keep hitting ESC to close the windows. It's still fecking annoying. I'm of a mind to submit a bug report every time it happens.

Bizwolf
That's bound to "\"? What in the world is over there to make you hit that button? Oh, duh, the enter key. Still no idea how you hit that button lol Edited December 31, 2011 by Bizwolf

Sivok
This and Ctrl + A. I want to unbind that annoying keybinding so bad.

Still no idea how you hit that button lol You're assuming everyone has the same keyboard layout. On a UK keyboard \ is next to the Left Ctrl, Left Shift, Z, A, and Caps Lock keys. On other layouts it's in other "hot" keyboard areas (like the top left). Edited December 31, 2011 by HELhikari
Ahkronn
That's bound to "\"? What in the world is over there to make you hit that button? Oh, duh, the enter key. Still no idea how you hit that button lol for me the \ key is to the left of 1 and to the top of Tab. Usually use it for special recurrent abilities. Now, can you imagine how easy is to press that? either pressing on or Tab goes really close to that, and ofc, it would be a very handy key to use for keybind. Is this a gamebreaker? Not always, but in fast paced moments, like boss fights or pvp, it can be deadly. If there was only one thing to be changed/fixed I could chose, that would be it. Merouk
You can bind the \ key to something else less annoying and it sticks. I have mine bound to "chat reply" and it's saved and has stayed so for weeks. If you want completely non-intrusive, make \ a secondary binding for turn left (as in left arrow), and it won't be a movement key that can interrupt things, nor will it bring up a pop-up or any other window. I always use that key for a central ability, and here I can't, cause even if I bind a quickslot to it, the Ticket thinggy overrides that. Extremely annoying! Only solution would be to have to change my keyboard language, but I'm too used to the one I have (I tried changing and couldn't type properly). At least to eliminate the issue of having the huge series of Ticket windows popping up, you can bind the key to for instance Toggle Map Fade. That way nothing interfering will occur when the button is pressed. Edited January 5, 2012 by Neulwen
Traesket
Same for me and § (Nordic keyboard layout between tab, 1 and esc). It starts up a bugreport which is incredibly annoying since I've been using that keybinding in pretty much every game since I started using WASD (which is basically since the first time I saw a computer). There shouldn't be a thing as permanent keybindings, there's absolutely no reason for that since it messes things up for people with different layouts. Let the players themselves decide what keybinds they want and don't want!
trotsky_tor
No... you didn't. Customer support keybind is not the same thing. You certainly *can* rebind the \ key. I have mine set to "move forward". When doing so, it says that it will unbind the Create Help Ticket function. Sure, yes, that's what I want to do. However, if I then *unbind* the \ key from "move forward" or whatever, it automatically rebinds it to create help ticket. There's no way to have the \ do nothing. You can make it do something other than the ticket window, but you can't have it do nothing.
GreymaneAlpha
On a related note: who's brilliant idea was it to make it impossible to rebind self-cast to ALT, the keybind that every other MMO ever has used as self-cast? Yes, you can use autoHotkey to remap, but...ffs did no one on the development team ever play another MMO?
Iggwilv
You're assuming everyone has the same keyboard layout. On a UK keyboard \ is next to the Left Ctrl, Left Shift, Z, A, and Caps Lock keys. On other layouts it's in other "hot" keyboard areas (like the top left). Brits always got to do stuff backwards. Can't spell "color", can't drive on the proper side of the road and now they can't put the "\" key on the right side of the keyboard.
