Ensign Temple has no actual *missions*? Really?

Just got Ensign Temple to 10,000 Affection, and I'm extremely disappointed in her storyline.

While learning about her past is nice, none of the things she implies will happen actually happen.

Spoilers follow.

The Sith never come after her, only her father. The "Father" mission lasts less than five minutes and is nothing more than a ship conversation, one that you can't even influence. She *will* kill her father, regardless of what you say to her.

Every conversation after this one lasted under a minute and was little more than a "Hey, how're you?". There was almost nothing to her story, which is extremely disappointing as she seemed like an interesting character.

In all the time from 0 to 10,000, I never once had a mission with her take place outside of my ship or a cantina. Not even a short one, and no combat at all.

Seriously disappointed in whoever wrote her story. Massive failure on all counts. I only hope the other 3 Companions I have left to level will be better.

Indeed. I'm currently bringing up Doctor Lokin's affection. So far it seems to be leading up to a quest, but then again Ensign Temple's story seemed to be leading to a quest about half way through, then just sputtered out into her asking me how to do my job.

Only your first companion has a REAL quest.

All others are just ship conversations with a black screen.

Which is indeed a terrible shame, considering the only 'first companion' I like the most out of all of them happens to be Khem Val, and maybe (although Kira falls a bit ahead, and she indeed does have an offworld quest or two) is T7-01. I don't even think the quirky guy has any offworld quests, but Kira does instead.

My favourite companions come later in the story; while I love Khem and T7, every other class seems to have a far more developed and interesting companion than the starter. It's a true shame quests weren't designed for each of them.

I would surmise that originally they planned to have actual missions for all companions, but due to time and budget constraints, they settled on giving them to your first companion (I think in some cases, the second, actually) since you have a whole lot more time with them.

It's the same for all other companions and all classes. Don't fault the writer, he was just working with the constraints he was forced to work within. And to be honest, compared to other non-first companion characters (especially ones that come late in the story), all of the Agents companions have very interesting stories for the short time you have to get to know them.

Going to the bug party with Vector would have been a fun quest, actually. Or helping Torian in the couple of times he goes off on quests with his Mando "brothers." It would have been fun to have more companion quests. I really DO love how Lokin's intersects with Vector's storyline, however. Some very good writing there. :)

I loved that too; it was one of the few acknowledgements that there were other people on the ship. Throw-around comments from Vector, Temple, Lokin, Kaliyo and even SCORPIO all nod at their relationships with the other people on board, rather than just the single comment in the whole story which suggests a companion might like another.
