Doing things "For the credits" isn't worth it.

Now... I've found this from playing both my gunslinger and my Bounty Hunter, both people who are known for doing things "for the credits". For example, the situation as a Bounty Hunter on Nar Shadda where the hutt offers to "reward you handsomely" for killing the woman who is your original client. At the time I took this offer and an hour later I received mail with 233 credits attached and this was my "Handsome Reward", and honestly, it's not enough.

 

When you take into account the cost of things by the time you hit level 20, 300 credits is nothing, when you pay 900+ credits just to train one ability, 300 credits is a drop in the bucket. Now then, I can understand why the number might be kept so low, as I can imagine they thought "people might just farm this quest to make lots of credits.", and that's a got point that I agree with. But on quests that are not repeatable, why not make it higher? When a Hutt who owns not only his own Cantina but large sectors of Nar Shadda offers to pay me handsomely, I honestly expect at least a thousand extra credits if not more. So from a "Role Playing" perspective this doesn't add up. From a mechanical standpoint here is the math of what happened because of my choice.

 

Make choice to do action "for the credits",

Mako affection -40,

Evil points 50 (the lowest amount you can earn for your actions)

Recieve 233 credits for my choice.

Spend 650 credits to buy companion gifts to break even for the -40 affection.

 

In the end I spent 267 credits to be "Paid Handsomely".

 

I think this is just a simple over-sight on someone's part, and I hope that by pointing it out someone will take a second look at it.

900 credits to train? I wish! At lvl 35 stuff is costing 9,000 credits+ to train. If you are playing the game for credits, there are plenty of actual options. A low level quest from the Hutt isn't going to pay much at all. What do you expect? The challenge of killing the extra people was how hard?

 

More to the point, the NPCs overly exaggerate the reward they are going to give you just about 100% of the time.

 

Further, other huge game breaking issues are more important than hyperbole from NPCs at this present build.
