Returning player - Level 80 gear upgrade

I'm currently stuck with 332 prototype mods. I've tried swtorista's guide by wearing a lower level earpiece when playing FP's but the drops only give me 324 prototypes now. How do I get 332 Artifact drops?

Rather than relying on drops, I suggest you focus on generating the currencies required (fp1 and op1) and use the vendors in the supply section on fleet to buy/upgrade the pieces. You should be pursuing the Hyde and Zeke quest to gain and deconstruct blue and then purple gear to get to 340. From there you can decide if you want to pursue 344 (which you can also buy and upgrade via op1 currencies).

VM FPs will drop blue accessories and VM OPs will drop purples, but you will still need to upgrade their ratings to turn in to H&Z and you can buy an initial piece instead of waiting on drops.

Once H&Z quests are done, you can use them to buy gearing mods and use "shell" gear pieces to put them in allowing you to customize your stats for priority (110% accuracy if dps, 7.2%+ alacrity, rest in crit, etc.)

Thanks for the info. I've been pursuing H&Z quests and blue drops are common but it's almost impossible for me to ever get into an OPs. Sometimes I wait for 3 hrs that I'm online but no chance at all.

Are you trying to use group finder for ops? Ops groups are being formed at fleet, outside of the group finder.
