cannibithobbal
As the title says, I tried to start the date night, and it just started playing the start of chapter 12 KotFE instead of the date night. I exited out and tried to click on him again and it did it again. I finally had to play the full opening cutscene for chapter 12 before it would let me go back to Aric and FINALLY start the date night. and it did work thankfully despite the fact story-wise you just sent him off Odessen lol Obviously I eventually got it to work, but this is clearly a bug, figured I should report it. FrenzyRook
I can't get it to start at all. Tried playing Chapter 11 of KotFE but that didn't work. This toon romanced Aric but jumped ahead to Ossus instead of doing KotFE/KotET. Then again, I couldn't get the Lana date night to work with my toon that's done the whole story either. It's so frustrating

If you don't play through KotFE/ET, but instead skip to Ossus, you don't restart romances with your original class/origin companions, so afterwards you count as not being in a relationship with the companion. It's so frustrating Yeah, as stated above, unfortunately the game removes all class story romances at start of KotFE (this is why there is no repercussions for replacing any vanilla romance with Theron/Lana/Koth), so if you skip to Ossus, it shows you as not romanced and auto-completed all those chapters so you can't go back and get your romance back. You have to play through the end of the chapter where they come back/lock in their romance again, and THEN you can safely skip the rest. But you have to finish the chapter where you lock a romance in first, otherwise you lose the romance. I had grinded out exactly the first 11 chapters to get Aric back and relock in the romance (but then not gone any farther yet) in prep for the date night, which is why chapter 12 was next. But it kept trying to start the chapter instead of the date night.

If you play through, you can choose whether you resume or abandon the romance. If you skip, it is assumed by fiat that you abandoned the romance.

That may not be the exact words you said, but it's what I said, which happens to be true, and is the same thing you said in different wording lol

Yes, you can't skip the Chapter's if you want to resume Romances, and depending on Companion or where you reunite, must also do subsequent Story's completely. Never Rush if you want to resume Romance's... Edited August 24 by Strathkin
Shayddow
My character had not skipped anything. It was a case of two quests that were both on Odessan, I had to go thru purple triangle quest , then I was able to get the "date" occurrence. And it wasn't Chapter 12. It was beyond that, it was a "Tau" vs the imperial stage of the story.
GuigeekRhadamant
While we're at it, does anyone know when the important choices are, and what are the prerequisite for Aric? Specific class? Post-Kotfe romance only? I don't want to lose 20-ish hours doing the story mode yet again... The 8 story class I had to do back in 2020 were enough, I don't want to hear about them before next decade
Shayddow
Well, obviously you can't kill a character you intend to romance, and the only one I've done this on was in Star Forge after I started the storyline with Tau. (which is after KOTFE/KOTET & Alliances). I think you have to do at least the chapter of KOTFE that features Aric. Not sure how much beyond you have to go. My character was Light side V, but Aric allows for more dark side choices than Elara (the female option trooper romance), at least in the story.
