jaingskiratanuul
It's been 8 years since this event showed up last, and it would probably bring people back for that sweet XP armor (at least put it into the seasons token vendor, a lot of us are starting to run out of things to buy). I know it would take some work to build it into the current system but I think it would be more than worth it.
Lord_Janosch
It was a heck of a grind. With all the new content since then it would be even grindier. I would pass I guess

As noted, it *was* a heck of a grind, and it would have to offer **new** rewards or the participation by longer-serving players (who played it the first time around) would be essentially zero. And the +%XP armour was even uglier than sin.
The_Hightower
I totally agree with SteveTheCynic. In case DvL is brought back, it is an absolute must that there are new rewards, especially since the +%XP armour only works to level 75(74?) and I've got all chars I need leveled past that. A new +%XP armour working at higher levels would not really matter, because you get more than enough XP from the story quests. Heaps of cartel coins, cartel packs and cosmetic armor/weapons which actually look good might do the trick.
AFadedMemory
Wasn’t there an option, during this mechanic, that made each light or dark side choice give points to your decided focus?
The_Hightower
Yeah, it ended in getting Master Ranos, since the light side slightly won (afair and according to https://www.swtor.com/dark-vs-light/home). Darth Hexid was then added later as reward for completing a newly introduced chievo (https://swtorista.com/companion/darth-hexid). It also led to either light or dark DvL-Bosses spawn after a specified time interval. Edited April 9 by The_Hightower
AFadedMemory
If anything it should be made into a reoccurring event. (like life day, night life, etc) Suggetion for new rewards: a platinum quality force user armor set that increases GS or Conquest point accumulation. A Dark/Light side beast companion or mount. (For winning side) Maybe even modify the rare item drop rates for ops and other activities to simulate “force manipulation” Edited April 9 by AFadedMemory

It wasn't an option. All L/D decisions during the event contributed to the "voting" that led to Master Ranos being The One, whether you wanted them to or not. The achievement thing is why Darth Hexid isn't on the Seasons vendors. (She's still available on the "With A Little Help From My Friends" achievement.) 49 minutes ago, The_Hightower said: It also led to either light or dark DvL-Bosses spawn after a specified time interval. That wasn't linked to the event. That was a basic mechanic of 5.X and 6.X (deleted in 7.X), while the event was during the 4.X time, in the run-up to 5.0. I meant to ask this. Wasn’t there a feature that forced opposition alignment choices to produce points of a chosen alignment. (i.e dark side gave light side because that’s the side a player selected to support) I wanna say this was a thing. I’m pretty sure it interfered with a playerthough because the default selection was of the alignment my character wasn’t supposed to be. (i.e dark side gave light side because that’s the side a player select to support) Not quite like that. If you played with the toggle set to Light, your decisions behaved normally, but all combat kills and mission completions(1) generated Light points (or vice versa for the Dark toggle). Um. During 5.X and 6.X, not during the DvL event. (1) Including crew skill missions, which caused confusion for peeps with Diplomacy, because Diplomacy missions still granted the dark or light Mission Theme alignment points *as*well*.
