RasereiAmok
This game is completely broken in terms of combat! Sad part is that it gets worse in PvP. Most of my skills as a smuggler don't register after I use them and they go on cooldown. Sometimes my abilities will be greyed out and I cant use them. I thought maybe it was a cover bug so I made a new character for PvP. Guess what? Same story for my jedi guardian. The skills are so unresponsive. Not as bad as smuggler, but still laggy. The game is very unresponsive. This is just one issue. There are about 100+ issues with this game. gg BioWare

Or try going into your control panel, going to power options and turning the option for power to high performance rather than balanced or power saver. I had to walk a few friends through computers that clearly could play the game but would lagg, be choppy, and delayed on abilities to turn their power option to high performance and presto smooth gameplay with little to no lagg/choppiness/delay. This has worked on 5 of the 7 friends computers that I play with, going from crappy to great. Just give this a shot, if you're still having trouble just reply with current computer specs and maybe I could look more into it to help you. good luck and happy hunting. For the Emperor! This game has bad character responsiveness. It has nothing to do with anyone's PC. The character responsiveness is bad.
Psytic
Actually Its the animations they tend to be slower then the empire side. There is a thread about this in the pvp forum. certain moves have longer animations for republic then their mirrors which makes combat feel unresponsive. Example is project is alot slower to fire off then shock is. or the back stab animation for smug of pulling out the shot gun is way slower then it is for op using the knife. It's not just the republic, it happens to the empire as well. I'm not convinced that it's tied to the combat animations. It's just the engine itself. This game is still in beta. Thrage
And what the hell is the point of having an interrupt if by the time my character "animates" and uses it, the spell has already gone off? This is not me being slow. This is bad character responsiveness.
MasterJager
Swtor runs great for me with no lagg, perfect response times on abilities and the only thing to me that seems delayed is the loading time into the game that's it.

Same here, even in pvp. Maybe once or twice I have had a bit of lag when I tried to open out of stealth and my target wasn't in the position I thought it was, but other than that the response feels fine for me. Part of the combat is learning when to hit abilities, because some things are channeled, and to not rely on the animation but the GCD.

Psytic
were not talking frame rates were talking the time from when you push the button to when your character does what ever animation is tied to that move to when it is actually registered in the game. Like my example before you go to back blast on smugg he takes a second or two to pull out a shot gun then he shoots it then the dmg is registered by the game. Empire side the character literately whips the knife into the guy as you press it there is no extra animation of him pulling it out like there is on repub so repub instantly has a 1 second lag on that ability just because the way it animates. Nothing to do with frame rates. there is moves on every charecter that the dmg doesn't activate till the animation finishes and some are worse then others making combat feel unreponsive when you chain together 3 moves that all have animation speeds like that. Kabloosh
The ability invincible took about 8 seconds at one point to activate today while I was playing. I literally hit the ability over 10 times paused for a second hit it again and it still didn't activate. This ability isn't tied to the GCD so it just makes no sense and a lot of the time it doesn't work if you try to use it with the other 2 tanking cds that come with the class. This happens a lot with retaliate which isn't tied to the GCD either. Its best to use this ability first before you hit anything else cause you run the risk of not activating the ability when you use something like force scream before it. gangbot
0:13, the ability riposte pops, you clearly see him pressing it 3-4 times, and the character stutters and looks like he is starting the ability then stops 3 times untill it casts. Ok, so that's a problem on his end. I have never had that problem with delays for proc abilities like Riposte.
gangbot
Ok, so that's a problem on his end. I have never had that problem with delays for proc abilities like Riposte. I dont think its a problem on his end if he presses it 5 times, the toon starts n stops the animation 5 times. i have the exact same problem and so do alot of other people. in wow i do not have this problem. this is your thinking - "i dont have this problem, so nobody else does unless its their own fault"

Unless a bunch of people are playing this game with a bunch of computers with the same glitch(cause I've had this happen all the time) and I know of my friends experiencing it too its probably something to do with the coding of this game. Briljin
The combat responsiveness (or lack off) is probably the main reason I am considering not renewing my account. I have played WoW, DAoC, Rift and Aion and I have never had such problems with abilities not firing off when used. It is horrible and really an issue in pvp.
