Radyor Posted December 31, 2011 Share Posted December 31, 2011 Ok I like this game but there are some issues. Maps here are horrible. Cant find anything within a reasonable level of convenience. Went online to find a map. People have maps but nothing is labled. Why is that? Trainers... <insert SNL skit "REALLY?!"> Basically everything is pretty hard to find and all of the resources provided by the game writes and devs is of no assistance at all. Also I cant help but notice there arent even any street signs. If there are...I dont think many of us recognize the hieroglyphic directions. Thanks for the authenticity though. If anyone has a descent map (Coruscant specifically) that is labeled with trainers, banks kiosks, etc etc it would be greatly appreciated by many. at least on the server I play on. I select something on the big map by pressing M, then just follow the minimap for more specific locations. I too would like a zoom in function on the main map.at this time google hasn't given me anything, but i bet in time someone will use screenshots to make a proper map. Also in the lower left corner is a selection for a magnify glass which is useful when you are viewing the whole planet and want a closer look at an area. If you use the Magnifying Glass on the Main Map then it acts like a mini map and makes it really easy to find stuff. As for the OP and Coruscant, not really sure what the complaint is. There's a magnifying glass/zoom feature on the main map (very bottom of the filters menu on the left). Utility is variable; I find it equally useful and annoying, depending on circumstance. If you are in an adjoining area, you can click the tiny arrow at the entrance to that area on the map, and the map view will change to that location. Seehorse Posted December 31, 2011 Share Posted December 31, 2011 I have to agree that the map does leave quite a bit to be desired, or at least it seems so unless I've missed something. I'm coming from City of Heroes where you can, at all times, have the zone map up in a corner of your screen allowing you to see the entire area. The mini map doesn't expand near enough to be useful for navigating the many mazes in the game so I'm constantly having to run a short ways, open the big map to check my course, then run more, then open the map again... it's getting really old. Ok, I need to head down this corridor, then I need to go where... open map... ok, I hang a left at the intersection and go where... Also in City of Heroes you can place a waypoint on your map and it's referenced in your navigation bar so you always know you're headed in the right direction. If there's a way to set a waypoint in TOR I haven't figured it out yet. There's a lot of things I like about this game, but there's also a lot of things I don't like, the map being one of them.
