Devs, Please Fix Your Servers

Over the past few months, there have been several issues with servers about which players from all the servers haven been complaining. Some of those issues get experienced by all the players, and constantly.

1. Players get logged out of the game sometimes while logging in their characters, back to the server page. While this is easily fixed by trying to log in again, it definitely points to a general problem with the servers.

2. Players sometimes get stuck in the loading page of different areas. Form my experience, this happens less frequently than the former, but this one is a huge problem, especially when you are doing group content, and entering, say,  an operation. The only fix for this is to alt F4 out of the game, and launch the game again as the loading screen never ends, and keeps 'filling.'

3. Players sometimes experience huge lag spikes in frequent intervals despite having a steady internet connection. Obviously, this is a huge problem as it affects the overall gaming quality of players, especially during stuff like pvp and the hardest ops.

4. The game temporarily freezes. Players experience this as a a series of freezing periods at frequent intervals. This happens generally during group content, especially pvp and ops. However, it is less like the players' system not being able to take it, but more like a random occurence during when a large group of players (and maybe enemies) fight close to one another. Though this is, from my experience, a rare occurence, it definitely determines who wins an arena match or whether the group will wipe in R4 Vet.

Shortly, please fix your servers.

I read somewhere that even potato PC will run SWTOR in ultra graphics settings.

But running it on my PC (that can smoothly run Cyberpunk2077 in ultra settings) I frequently get annoying stuttering even with 600Mbit optical fibre cable internet. I'm really surprised to see this game in similar state to when it was 4 years ago, when I stopped playing. Just returned and subscribed again a week ago.

Where are you located & what server are you connecting to. Because fibre connection means nothing if you’re a long way from the server & have to go through multiple hops to the server.

I know this first hand because I play from Australia with a fibre connection. Before the recent APAC server was added, my ping was 220ms but it would jump around up to 330ms. And my game performance was terrible.

But now I’m on the APAC server & my ping is 7-10ms & there are zero performance issues. I play at max settings for everything & the game has never been smoother.

My guess is, lots of performance issues on the US & EU servers have to do with the hodgepodge of internet backhaul (backbone) companies that make up the regional networks.

It's possible you misinterpreted something I said, maybe.  My old 2011 potato (it was a potato in 2011 as well) can *today* run SWTOR in Ultra, but that's because I upgraded it to have a non-potato graphics card (GTX 1080) that didn't even exist in 2011.  (I pulled the 1080 out of my other PC when I put a 2080 Ti in there...)
