Swtor has, one of the worst pvp in any mmo

Title says it all. It is so unfun, that I legit feel any motivation to play get drained and just wish for god to blow my head off. Any time I play, I just thank to myself "Man, being skinned alive is more fun then this". I like to believe I have a high diction, but even I can not express how much disdain I have for pvp in this game. It truly feels like BW doesn't care about pvp, and they just use pvp seasons to make people shut up about improving the pvp. Like why would I grind for something, when said game mode is so bad and not even close to being fun. Like what is fun about  being put up against ranked no life's in premade, or the crap matchmaking, or even playing the same map over and over and over and over and over. Pulling my teeth out with pliers would be more fun then pvp in this game. I truly can not put into words how much I despise the pvp in this game.

Very graphic. I liked it. I tend to agree with you my friend so I just don't pvp. Problem fixed.

Huge list of issues currently for PvP that completely shatter any player's experience, much less a newer or lesser experienced one.
Here are some examples.

  • Bolster basically doesn't exist anymore, so gear matters... A LOT. There's no bolster for augment so if you don't augment the gear you are constantly replacing while gearing up you are at a massive disadvantage. Even though PvP is not a great gearing method many people still do it.
  • TTK is actually really fast in any experienced player's hands, so you instantly feel the difference when someone knows what they doing and one who doesn't. This gives a false idea that TTK isn't fast, but I assure you it's faster than it ever has been. This doesn't work well for players who are under-geared or still trying to learn because that means they can die in one single stun.
  • Balance, lack thereof. The differences between something meta and non is nearly playable and unplayable. Normally non-meta things can be played in other competitive games with little hindrance, but in this game it's extreme.
  • Objectives are stale and most experienced players are tired of playing objectives alone. Most matches will be objectives against nobody or very few players leaving the warzone either being a death brawl or a bunch of nothing as people avoid combat and collect medals from afking on objectives. This leads to outnumbered situations and those are incredibly painful regardless of who you are as TTK is fast.
  • 8-man groups are possible, much less of an issue as specifically 8-man but more so the fact 5-6-7 and 8mans are possible. This allows people to still optimally form a group but have more than just 2 dps with little drawback. Meaning this super fast TTK meta we can easily make a group where we can hit the DPS wall where no one can survive, meaning utter domination.

There's definitely more but I love this game, just sadly as you said, PvP seems to be something they don't care about. I don't want to see worse for the game, I want to see better but I have to agree here and it just sucks for it to be in this state. The lack of tutorials or simple understanding for a lot of the mechanics in-game aren't explained and most of the time you have to look externally to figure things out. For example, taunts function in PvP, it reduces damage by 30% for 6s if they're not hitting the player who taunted them.

Simple things they could do to make things immediately better and redeem this season.

  • Add bolster in for 14x mastery augments, only given if the player has no augments in that slot. Add raw stats and not some formula. Immediately all forms of PvP feel better and players aren't down over 50,000 health points.
  • Remove the ability to queue in higher than 4-man groups as not only does it ruin matchmaking.
  • Rework matchmaking to have better brackets for the type of players they are, with premade running off the highest/best player in the group. For example, someone whose never broken over 5 million damage probably shouldn't be in the same match as someone whose constantly doing 10+. This helps less geared players who are purely focused on objectives to play against each other and makes a more relaxed learning environment for them. While giving the players who just want to brawl what they want.
  • Disable quesh again.

This reads just like those people who say they hate Call of Duty or "this is the worst COD in the franchise for x reasons". Yet they will still play it hours on end despite how much they hate it or for those reasons. Even if they fix everything to your liking, you'd still find something to complain about. Plus, you're not saying, or complaining, about anything new that hasn't been said ad nauseum. Here's a tip: Stop taking everything so personally, and take it in stride. You're not going to win every match, people are better than you, and you're not always going to have the best teammates, or stop playing before you break something.

Gear matters very much in this game, and so do ur stat priorities. Without giving advice to the devs about how to fix things (which I think Behrayl did very well) what I can tell u is this....Join a guild who pvps and has experience. Ask for help on how to gear. Group with friends. You have a right to come and complain here and certain things in the game do need to be fixed. However you can do a lot within ur own power to improve ur own experience. This games pvp gameplay is honestly better than most mmos out there, there's just a steep learning curve.

Well said. I wonder if Broadsword will look at this feedback & try & get the Devs to work on fixing these short fallings of the PvP part of the game.

Otherwise, PvP seasons will ultimately fail or only be a grind fest for completionists. No one will get better & more veteran players will leave.

I have played good mmo pvp. ESO Cyrodiil is the most unbalanced pvp you will ever experience in an mmo, but its fun. I can see how good the pvp can be in SWTOR and how a lack of care makes it into the most tedious thing.

BS needs to hire someone, anyone that knows about and cares about PvP. BW has been a complete failure on this front (and many others) for 10 years now. Short of hiring someone that was not from the original BW team and putting them squarely in charge of PvP, it's going to continue to suck.

Ban me. I don't care.

matchmaking is bad.

calling ppl who are good at the game and like to play it a lot "ranked no life's" seems a bit out of place. and if I were a certain someone with a ST name on a SW board, I'd report you for it, but I'm not, so I won't.

the lack of map selection is bad.

the fact that you're forced to stay on maps that you don't like with players (teammates and opponents) who only want to TDM you and will do so whether you're alone or in a grp is, frankly, galling. I realize you cannot "force" (in a SW game! 😄) other ppl to play the game as intended, but to likewise be "forced" to sit there and take it or play the game the way they are (i.e., ignoring the win conditions) is really really really ****ing frustrating. of all the problems with map layouts and mechanics (with regard to desync and player abils to cheese them), nothing is more broken in WZs than this. it's why the only queue worth playing is arena. if you queue WZs and you're not just doing it to pop heads, I assume you're a masochist. at least in arenas, the object is to kill the other team. iunno. you want to talk about problems with pvp, that's the most glaring one imo.

matchmaking may be frustrating at times, but it doesn't hold a candle to the complete abandonment of win conditions in WZs. honestly. go bleeping run around a pvp instance and play "red is dead" there. or let me leave w/o a deserter debuff. eesh.

I genuinely think WZs would be better served to be full 8m premade only. that way you get 8 like-minded players, whether it's 8 hamster wheel bots, 8 tryhards (assuming that many exist on the server), or 8 dudes who just wanna pop heads (but somehow cannot organize anything in OW?).

If there anything like BW, smashing your head against a wall would be more productive
