The launcher is opening and closing several times

Our team is currently looking into this issue, in the meantime players can follow these troubleshooting steps:

For a few players, they need to the let launcher run for a few minutes so that the launcher updates and properly fixes itself.

If it doesn't work, follow these steps:

• Download the SWTOR installer from here
  Run it and click on Repair. It should look like this 

This should update the launcher directly. After the process is complete, open the launcher as normal. 

If nothing works, you need to send the content of the following link http://cdn-d6patch.swtor.com/swtor/launcher/alias.json at this email address: support@swtor.com. 

• Be sure to use the following title: Looping issue with the SWTOR launcher, include your account name and use the email address associated with your account name.  

Launcher

• With 64-bit launcher, your Antivirus program may pop up with an alert. Please follow the troubleshooting steps below, if the issue is still there, we invite you to check additional steps in this thread: Common 64-bit issues.
  • Players are encouraged to update their firewall/AV settings to allow the app. 
  • Players may also need to remove compatibility settings as this was tied to seeing an empty server list upon log in. 
    • These could be set on [installation directory]\launcher.exe or [installation directory]\swtor\retailclient\swtor.exe
    • Right click
    • Click Properties
    • Click the Compatibility tab
    • Uncheck “run this program in compatibility mode”
  • For a few players, it is possible that DirectX 9 is not installed. You can download it here. Once the files are saved (in any location you prefer), you must run the SETUP.exe file manually.
     
• If your game runs at 60 FPS despite having a different rate selected on the options menu. Select another rate and then change it back to the desired setting.

UI / Map

• The signal option tooltip is displayed outside of the visible area if the the mini-map is positioned on the bottom side of the screen. Thread.
• The animated part of the Obsidian Squad flair appears as a black square. Thread.
• The Magnify Cursor in the Map Window is inaccurate. Thread. 
• The scoreboard at the end of Warzone shows Allies and Enemies even if only Allies or Enemies is selected. Thread.
• The resource nodes filter is not active in the mini-map by default. Thread.
  • Players need to manually add the nodes filter back in the mini-map filters.

General

• NEW - Active Guild Perk Abilities are removed from the Quickbar after a transition. Thread.
• Some trees are clipping through the bridge in the Mos Ila Spaceport on Tatooine. Thread.
• Mek-Sha Stronghold
  • Purchasing and unlocking the Mek-Sha Stronghold, Mek-Sha Safehouse, doesn't reflect in the Legacy tab. Thread. 
    • Travel to the stronghold is still possible on any character even if the icon in the Legacy tab is still shown as locked.
  • The Small Wall Hooks in the Lower Area of the Mek-Sha Safehouse Stronghold are broken. Thread.
  • The Starship hook outside of the Stronghold is not visible in Editing Mode. Thread.

Items

• This is intended that the Dantooine Achievement item Yarvok's Gratitude can't be used in PvP areas. Thread. 
  • The tooltip will be updated to mirror this information.
• The B3-K2 Blaster Rifle clips with the back of Male Body Type 1 and Female Body Type 4.
• The B3-K2 Sniper Rifle clips with the back of Male Body Type 1 and Female Body Type 4. 

Companions

• The [Romance] tag with Koth, Lana or Theron is missing in the conversation of “Relax in the Cantina” step of Chapter IX: The Alliance Mission for Female characters.
• Companion conversations cannot be started inside the Mek-Sha Hideout Stronghold.

Missions

• The Cheating Algorithm Mission cannot be completed for Republic characters. Thread.

PvP

• Warzone and Arena Scoreboard are not sorted properly. Thread.
• PvP Season Weekly Objectives didn't reset during the weekly reset. Thread.
  • Log out and back would fix this issue. 
• Track reward Title and Achievement Title both grant the Legacy Title: Mark of the Assassin. Thread.

Galactic Season 4 "A Passage of Peace"

• Defeating Colossal Monolith for the 'Heart of Ruin' Season Objective only grants the additional 3 points to the player who does the last hit. Affects both factions and difficulties. Thread.

 ---------- BUGS FROM PREVIOUS UPDATE ----------

Spoiler

• Despite being removed from the game since Game Update 7.0, Fanged God Form tactical item still appears in the requirements of the Spoils of War: Jedi Sentinel/Sith Marauder Achievement. Thread.
• Switching profile in the main quickbar makes the PVE button text disappears. 
• Vicious Slash ability on Juggernaut is playing the incorrect animation when used. Thread.

Items

• The Ruhnuk Wanderer Chestplate is clipping and stretching in certain circumstances. Thread.
• The Ultimate Cartel Pack has the same information written twice in the Cartel Market description.
• The Holographic Weapon tuning is not correctly working when equipped on the Retired Gladiator Sniper Rifle.
• Sa'har Kateen's Lightsaber is getting smaller after throwing it. Thread.
• Deconstructing items from the Material Inventory does not grant Augment Slot Components. Thread.
• High Roller Shades have invisible lenses during cutscenes and preview. 
• Enlightened Spider Droid
  • The Enlightened Spider Droid pet's portrait frame is missing from the Abilities window. 

UI

• Utility Bar 1 appears behind the Welcome Window in the default UI when the option "Enable Movable Secondary Window" is deselected preventing players from closing the Welcome Window.
  • Workaround: Players need to move Utility Bar 1 via Interface Editor or select the option "Enable Movable Secondary Window" to be able to close the Welcome Window.
• The position of the Large Tooltip resets after the players do a transition. Thread and Thread.
• Character Details in the Outfitter window shows the wrong Damage value with active Weapon Stamp.

 

Missions

• Completing the [HEROIC 2+] Possessed Hunter Mission is not completing the Dromund Kaas: Heroic Missions Conquest Objective. Thread.
• "Master of Manaan" Achievement does not complete if the "Master of the Seas" Achievement was completed before 7.1.1. Thread.
• Players are teleported to the wrong location after being polymorphed into a Cargo Loader Droid in the Manaan storyline - Imperial. Preventing them from progressing in the storyline. Thread.
  • Current workaround: Transport to the Fleet and launch the Mission again. Note: this workaround is not working for all players.

PvP

• Title and description for several PvP Missions are missing for DE/FR in the PvP Mission Terminal. Thread.
• Visual effect is missing from the PvP Battle Flags decorations when viewed from the Preview window.

Galactic Seasons

• Reaching the Legend Rank with the Gambling Authority and Management doesn't trigger the Authority on the Subject Achievement for all players.
  • Players who reach this rank before the end of the season, but didn't unlock the achievement need to contact our Support Team with the server where they reach the rank and when they reach it. 
• Players don't receive the "Let it Ride V" Achievement despite reaching Level 100 in Galactic Seasons 3. Thread.
  • Note: Players who reach Level 100 but didn't receive the Achievement need to contact our Support Team.
• G.A.M.E Security and G.A.M.E Pit Boss Jacket & Gloves have missing textures when equipped on Female Body Type 1 and 2. Thread.
• Galactic Seasons 3: "Luck of the Draw"
  • Weekly Objectives display 1/7 after the weekly reset even if no objective has been completed. Thread.
  • This bug is a visual one, logging out and back fixes the bug. 

Ruhnuk

• The following Heroic areas are not correctly identified on the map:
  • Part of Upper Excavation Site
  • Western Part of Ventilation Shaft
  • Maintenance Tunnels
  • Part of Freight Center
  • Small part of Water Treatment

Events

• Pirate Incursion
  • Players on Dantooine don't get their level shifted to the mobs level on the planet.
    • Note: Due to this bug, the minimum level required at the moment is 70. 
• All worlds ultimate swoop rally
  • It is not possible to complete the Blatant Beks, Horizon’s Razors, and Pit Screamers Perfection Achievement on Tatooine and Onderon. Thread.

We've added the following bugs to the list:

• The Queue button cannot be interacted with while in a Warzone / Arena match. 
• The resource nodes filter is not active in the mini-map by default. 
  • Players need to manually add the nodes filter back in the mini-map filters.

The additional bug has been added:

• The Small Wall Hooks in the Lower Area of the Mek-Sha Safehouse Stronghold are broken.

The following bugs have been fixed with Game Update 7.2.1b: 

• Special characters are not copied when transferring a character from the website.
• The Wasteland Raider's Helmet is missing the visor and makes character's head invisible for players and decoration. Thread.
• Huttball matches don't count toward PvP Season Objectives. Thread.

We've added the following bug to the list: 

NEW - Black screen since 7.2.1b (impacts players using colorblind mode)

Our team is currently looking into this bug. In the meantime, players need to following these troubleshooting steps to turn off the colorblind mode:

1. Close the game
2. Open the Windows Run command and run C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings
3. Open the file with your account name with a text editor
4. Change the line about Color blind mode to: Graphics_ColorBlindMode = 1
5. Save the file
6. Restart the game
