Lack of immersion :/

The thing is...in this game, nothing feels..."there" if that makes any sense.

Back in wow (alredy turned off alot of people) if I saw a mountain, I would think "hey, theres a mountain, and if im close i can actually climb it"...in swotr i think "theres just a painting of a mountain".

anyone else feel this?

EDIT I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT STORY!

Climb a mountain?

Not unless it had a pre-designed path.

Otherwise you jump up, and slide right back down.

Because it was meant to keep you in that area, or force you to a path to get to the area on the other side.

Nope, I'm so immersed in the story that I don't even notice the mountain.

Cheers.

Back in WoW, I looked like this:

Now, I look like this:

Back in WoW, I would click a quest giver and use a mod to tell me where to go to complete the quest.

Now, I have to make decisions that can have a positive or negative effect on my story.

Back in WoW, I didn't have to do anything with the community to get somewhere in the game.

Now, I have to interact with the community to get things done. Therefore, if I am labeled as a troll, less people will be willing to help me.

Lack of immersion is what WoW is today, not what SWTOR is right now.

I haven't felt this much immersion since Everquest in 1999. I'm not sure we are playing the same game. I love being in the game world and I love my class storyline. This game is amazingly immersive to me. I'm not even joking one bit. I was as surprised as you are to find out how much I actually loved this game.

This MMO has the most immersion ANY MMO has EVER had in HISTORY, FACT!

Please forum moderators, dosomething about this, I came on these forums to read and talk about things in the game and all I get to see is retarded trollswith no life waisting it and others trying to ruin a game they do not seem to play in the first place.

Doing my class quest 2 nights ago, I actually said "holy <BLEEP> that was awesome" at the end.

I haven't said that about an event/action in an MMO in more than 6 years.

That's how I felt about the opening cinematic, and the one where I got my spaceship too. Simply awesome.

Cheers.

I had the exact same thing happen to me last night. The class quests are absolutely amazing.

To the OP: This game does not lack immersion, you seem to lack imagination.

Shame every playable race looks like that except for the head.

Bad example.

They do? Your story doesn't fundamentally change regardless of your decisions.

You can still just follow a mod and there is very little difference.

Outside of the heroic quest/zone on each planet what more do you need help with in SWTOR? You still can pvp/instance/raid solo.

Lack of immersion is what WoW is today, not what SWTOR is right now.

Nah, IMO the mountains and terrain are meant to look pretty, they aren't actually meant to all be accessible. In that respect this game kills it. There is some scenery in Tython near the Forge that will make your jaw drop.

I'm thinking most people are remembering their time in older MMO's with some heavily tinted rose colored glasses.
