Disconnecting from Steam

I'm not a new player but have always played through Steam. I see that I can unlink my account, but I don't know how to play after that. I assume I need to download the client again? I know this all sounds silly but if anyone could answer the steps involved, I'd be grateful! Thanks in advance!

In summary, you would have to download the non-Steam version of the client from the SWTOR web site and install it, and then use that to play.  (And at that point you might as well tell Steam to uninstall the Steam version of SWTOR because you have to be on a linked account to use it.
