theLast Posted December 30, 2011 Share Posted December 30, 2011 So I've been playing since beta and I have to say that I had more interaction with other players back in beta than I do in release. I've been on vacation for the last week, playing all different hours (so it can't be a timezone thing) and I have yet to see more than 100 people on any planet (according to the friendly little chat window plug-in). Even during peak times I pass the same 3-4 players and that's it. I've even spent large amounts of time just wandering the planets for exploration and datacrons and I'm not running into new people at all. Bioware says that they have over 1 million subscribers and I won't say they are lying, but my question stands. Where are they? I feel - most of the time - like I'm playing a single player game with multi-player as an added potential. Contrast that to every other MMO I've played where I'm tripping over other people and it makes me feel like the game is empty. Dead. A failure. Knowing that they are sitting on 1 million subscribers, I know that this feeling is incorrect. However, that is the feeling I get when I spend my entire night (3 hours of gaming during peak time) on a planet and only run into the same 3-4 people that I have been seeing since I started on December 15th. I guess the natural follow up question is: What can be done about it? Well to be honest I have no idea, but the main draw of MMOs is interaction with other players in a world that is persistent. I'm not getting that interaction here. In fact, if I wasn't playing with my RL friends, I would be forced to skip a lot of content. Flashpoints, Heroics, even some of the datacrons require multiple people to do them and since I'm almost never seeing anyone it doesn't feel like they would be doable. This post is getting rather longer than I intended, so I'll leave with one last thing. I've gone back and rolled 2 new characters on different planets and different factions and have had the same problem. Whether Republic side or Imperial, Hutta or Korriban, Tython or Ord Mantell, I am only ever running into a few people here and there. It's a bit disconcerting that the game has just released, managed over 1 million subscribers in the first week of release, and I can't find people anywhere on my server even when there is a queue.
