Question about Arcann decision in 7.1. (Contains Spoilers)

I really would love to see a developer answer this.

Is the choice we make in regards to sending Sana Rae or not going to determine what happens to Arcann or will it not make a difference? I hate these kind of tricky decisions with a horrible outcome we don't know about. I am reluctant to play any of my other characters through this until more content is released for fear of losing him.. If my boy ends ups getting killed, hurt or turned dark again, I am going to be really upset.

Life is one thing and it shouldn't be compared with an MMORPG which is, clearly, another thing.

The real question is: is Arcann lost to us if he goes alone ..

... or ...

... both Arcann and Sana-Rae are lost to us if we send Sana as a reinfonceremnt?

The other arrangement is that Arcann survives but gains nothing alone while they succeed as a team or ... a pair!

A third arrangement is that Arcann succeeds alone while he also falls in love with Sana-Rae if they work as a team! The latter option is not a win-win situation for sure; they could give birth to a Valcorion's grandson ... with a lot of unpredictable repercussions!

Otherwise the choice is pointless, namely a waste of time!

Exactly this. Because of this unknown outcome, I stopped after running one character through this story. Since it's just cutscenes, I am going to wait until the next story update to do any other classes now. I would prefer to watch a youtube video and be safe rather than sorry.

I will also add that Sana Rae jumped on this opportunity really fast. A possibility she could betray us for whatever reason. Bombing of voss when Arcann was healed but who knows what bioware dreams up. I didn't get good vibes from her during this scene. She may be something we never expected.

Hate to agree with you. My pub side characters never sent him, I never romanced him on anyone, but I do worry about Sana Rae on all my characters, I REALLY don't want to anger the Voss in any way ><, they protect their Mystics above all people. That is what scares me, she doesn't say she had a vision. We don't seem to be sending anyone with her to protect her. I also hate this choice. :(

If I am not mistaken, one choice is the light side and the other choice is the dark side.

If I recall, when I did it on my sorceress and she sent him alone, she got dark side choices.

My republic characters sent help and got light side choices so going by that the dark side choices are always the worst (lol), so it is possible that not sending help either turns Arcann back to the dark side or kills him (Just my opinion) and the light side choices keep everyone from dying. (Again, just an opinion)

I didn't see light/dark pop up in this conversation and I've had it on a few characters.

Interestingly enough, there is still a choice to send Sena-Rae for a character that doesn't have an "alive" Arcann.

I never thought about this, i.e that Arcann +/- Sana Rae could be killed on their mission and permanently unavailable.

Choices matter. I don't regret sending him regardless of the outcome. Sana Rae is my Alliance Specialist for Force matters, she said Arcann was best suited for the job, so I took her advice. I trusted the advice of my specialist and I personally felt he could do the job.

Personally, I feel like the writers shafted him a little. I mean the whole point of sending him to that planet was because he knew Wild Space. At least give him a line like, "I've seen the symbols on these ruins before, but it will take me some time to research them more." Also, I feel like Arcann should have more self-confidence at this point. Stop always playing the pity party card. Its pretty obvious Darth Nul knew what she was doing. Just because he needs to call in backup doesn't mean he is a failure. Anyway, it is a rare complaint about an overall well written mini story. In fact, I think the fun factor, writing, and storytelling of the Digging Deeper story was better than anything written since KOTET. Change my mind.

The scenario wasn't dramatically different for my Sith Inquisitor who had killed Arcann during KOTET. Instead of Arcann giving a holo transmission its Sana Rae telling us how useless her team was. We don't even learn about strange symbols on ruins in a region of space some of our Alliance members ought to know. She still goes in the end.

If I lose her there are other powerful Force users in the Alliance who can take her place. Not that I specifically want to lose her, but this is her moment to prove her usefulness. So far the only specialist who has proven his/her worth is Hylo.

Wow lol!

Imagine playing game with choices to wait until someone else will

Tell what is best choice because I'm too scared to find it out lol

That's how life and such games works.

This approach seems shallow to me.

In real life some people make use of others (and, particularly, their subordinates) as pawns in a chess game,

also some people make use of people who trust them as expendables and they despise them also; they consider trust and honesty as a fundamental liability!

Other people take a different path of action, some prefer the opposite (Kantian!) approach etc.

Anyways, both of them try to protect their assets, either their pawns or their companions and allies!

If they are rational, that is: you don't sacrifice your pawns for nothing!

Within an MMORPG some gamers make use of some NPC chars as exploration vessels, other gamers prefer to approach these NPCs as real human beings...

It's a matter of taste and personality.

Regarding Arcann, I never got rid of him and that for two reasons: his redemption seemed to be genuine, he is quite capable and I also wanted to ally with his powerful mother, another valuable asset for the Alliance and a pretty decent human being!

That said, I decided to take care of Arcann: my approach obliges me to protect him, to make use of his skills also.

Therefore I decided to help him with Sana-Rae, it's the only option given to me by the Force ... and BioWare!

Thus I advise the initiator of this interesting thread to play 7.1 with just one more character of her and repeat the normal choice to help Arcann in his important and critical quest. All the other chars of her should wait of course!

Sana Rae left Voss something they never do.

Sana Rae sent Arcann to a place where Darth Null has been.

she dragged Kira back to a place where Darth Null has been and went off alone with Kira.

she sent Scourge to check out other ruins, most likely a Darth Null site

when Scourge and Kira rejoins our group, we meet them close to Sana Rae

the fact she offers to help Arcann, at a site only she knew anything about.

to me it just seems to add up to her being Darth Null

Have you played the Consular story as in the Consular story a mystic does leave Voss and travel with the Consular, so it is rare that they leave but there is at least one instance where a Mystic does leave Voss.

Also the Smuggler story has a bonus mission to visit several Voss who have gone off world.

Also, Talsa Ko goes with Queneth Li to join Darth Serevin on Ilum as Malgus' "right hand man" for the New Empire. I believe Talsa Ko states that the Voss intend to join the New Empire if Darth Serevin succeeds in defeating the flashpoint team.

I mean its possible that Sana Rae is Darth Nul, but considering that Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorion didn't even know about the Voss until right before the events of the game, when Darth Baras does his trickery trapping the new Voss "Voice" in the Dark Heart, I doubt it. Plus, I'd think Scourge and Kira would have noticed the feelings long before the events of the "Ruins of Nul" flashpoint if she was the Mother of the Children of the Emperor all along.

I hope we'll go there personally as a phased location.

Planet sounds interesting and within my likable atmosphere. You know, dark unknown etc.

I'm always into exploring such places and with ruins and if it's that important for our story. Malgus and Darth Nul really seems like great story, though we are getting minor answers and more questions which can lead to boredom and frustration.

It's cool to create hype, but I think if we won't get anything in 7.2 (like few bigger answers) then a lot of people will be bored, not hyped.

As for question. Nah, they won't kill Arcann or Voss lady.

It'd too strange. I don't think also why they would want to do this. Especially with companions.

We'll see. Hopefully in 7.2 which brings question... When in the gell it'll be?

I don't think either Lana or Sana Rae are Darth Null.

Playing thru on my IA loyalist, she is now Keeper. Head of Sith Intelligence. She knows where all the bodies are buried, and has access to the vast network which is Sith Intelligence.

They keep biological information on everyone in the Empire, they have records of anyone who was made a Darth.

In a totalitarian society such as the Empire, to have an unknown Darth is something very rare.

It would have had to be done at the highest level.

Because of the history of the Voss I don't think she would have been made a Darth, and Lana is only a Lord when she is introduced in Story of Revan.

I would be very very surprised if either decision caused us to permanently lose Arcann.

We have already had the big decision with him on whether we wanted him to live or die and BW don't tend to give that option for the same character twice.

They also don't tend to hide life or death decisions, aside from the Vette/Torian decision at the end of KOFTE they are pretty much always explicit that "........choice WILL kill the involved character".

The Torian/Vette decision was the only one I can think of that didn't explicitly state that a companion would die when the decision was made.

We may have to go on a rescue mission or something similar which could be pretty cool, but I doubt we'll lose him. I sincerely hope we don't anyway, a couple of my characters are happily in a relationship with him.
