Prologue

Power Elected

Alderaan's Lush and Vibrant landscape had recently been under a civil war and two Galactic Wars... with corruption at the Heart of Coruscant. It was a difficult time with Senators serving their interests over the good of the Galaxy. Hope Organa was an ambassador and had recently resolved a crisis involving a trade dispute between The Republic and Manaan. She now hopes to bring more to the Republic by her election as Republic Senator for Alderaan. With Saresh no longer in power. The current Supreme Chancellor supported the election of Hope into the Galactic Senate... Now all Hope has to do is to do speeches and debate with her opponents; in the past, she was against unnecessary regulation and any form of oppression against the people of the Galaxy. That is still the case in the election. She now travels to the City of House Organa as she begins her final speeches before winning or losing the election. The City, though made of many metals, was alive with color vibrant blues and greys adorning the metals of each of the buildings, and were each handcrafted to look for a way to ensure the elegance of each of the buildings in the city. At its heart lay the Palace... the place where the debate will take place. As she arrived, the crowd near the stage cheered when her name was called, as she enjoyed the most support and had the most chances of winning the election. She had long black hair tied in a bun, emerald green eyes, and seemed she was considered tall but not too tall as not to be considered Human. She wore a red dress made of Shimmer Silk with a skirt down to the bottom of her feet. As she approached the podium, the other potential Senators came up to the stage, including her political rival Benthulius Panteer; he was a tall, muscular man with short jet black hair in a pompadour, dark blue eyes, and a prosthetic hand on which he got his hand cut, he wore a suit that seemed to be more fitting of a military man than anything else. Panteer secretly sided with criminal syndicates to undermine Hope's entire campaign and tried to assassinate her when in his mind, she stepped out of line, and then there was Angelasia Alde, another one of her political opponents, but they were on friendly terms. Then the debate began, and the moderator. A small balding man came to the moderator's podium and said in a bored drooling voice, "Welcome to the election debate, I am Orsisium Alde, and I will be moderating today." It seemed very clear that he did not want to be there and would have much more been a Historian rather than being in politics. "Let's... get started... Madams and Sir, would you begin" He said, dragging through the words as if he wanted to leave as soon as possible. Panteer started by saying in a loud booming voice, "I think that our positions are quite clear. Why can't we go through with something other than an election and get appointed by the King or Queen to represent us in the Senate?" Then Angelasia was at her full height and said with as much might as she could muster, "So says the man whose own house assassinated the Queen and killed the Prince." Shock emanated from the crowd as mutterings of agreement swept across the audience. Then Hope in a calming voice, said, "As much as a fight might be necessary. Wouldn't a fight with The Sith Empire be more appropriate to the overall goal of the Republic?" cheers boomed from the crowd as the moderator called for order. Hope then began a speech that was meant to give inspiration to the people. "I dream that one day we will not be judged by our species but by our potential. In this war, we are all important... not just the Soldier or Jedi, but everyone in the Galaxy is important in ending a war. We all strive to do what is best." She then cheered "FOR THE REPUBLIC!" all the people cheered "For The Republic"! The debate was over, and all of the pieces were in place. The votes were cast by the next day, and it was a landslide victory for Hope Organa, who beat her competitors with that speech. She then went toward the spaceport and headed toward a shuttle. Her bodyguards escorted her to her seat, and they lifted off. When they reached space they entered Hyperspace.

Chapter 1

The Capital

Coruscant, the heart of the Republic, Hope had dreamed of one day going to Coruscant as a Senator. Her people were willing to enter the fight against the Sith Empire. She was one of the few in the Republic that wanted to bring change to the Senate. The Republic, as it stood, was a beacon of hope, which was her namesake. As the ship blasted out of Hyperspace, she saw a fleet of starships as well as Coruscant. It was more beautiful than she ever imagined. Skyscrapers are so high that they light up the planet's surface with their energy; as they made it to the planet, she saw that there were construction projects in progress. This was unexpected; she knew about the battle of Coruscant, but she didn't know that the Jedi Temple was attacked so severely that it collapsed. Her parents knew that she would inspire the people of the Republic with her words the moment that she was found to have great empathy. Her oratory skill and political acumen showed that one day she might make even Supreme Chancellor, though she did not want that power. As she knew all too well, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. As they got closer to the spaceport, she noticed that two Jedi were going to accompany them. This is probably in case of any trouble. However, she knows how to defend herself, as she was nearly assassinated for her political beliefs. From that day forward, she would learn to defend herself with various weapons. Including her signature blaster pistol that she would use as a last resort in case all other forms of protection were gone. She also knew Taras Kasi, a form of Martial Art that can be used against force wielders. Thankfully, she wouldn't have to use it on any force users today. She then heard something: a clearance for docking control. "Aurek Bravo 1 here to deliver the Senator, request permission to land." the bodyguard on her right then said, "This might take a while, Senator." She understood the Republic's regulations and procedures, but she also understood that the Jedi would be right there with them. She had met Jedi before when she was nearly assassinated; the Jedi were there. She knew that someone wanted her dead. And she wanted to find out who. It turned out it was the Sith Empire that wanted her dead. Though why, she did not know. Finally, docking control allowed them to enter; as the Shuttle landed, she saw one of the Jedi; he seemed familiar somehow. Though she could not figure out where. The other Jedi, a female Twi'lek who seemed younger than even herself, however, was entirely unfamiliar to Hope. 'Who are these Jedi?' She thought to herself as the shuttle landed with a thud. She then stepped out of the door and finally saw who the male Jedi was and was surprised it was one of the Jedi that she had met before. He was five foot, nine inches and a quarter in height. He had brown-colored robes, dark brown hair, and deep blue eyes and seemed this time to be much wiser than the last time they met. "Senator Organa, it has been a long time. I believe you haven't met my Padawan Tiheri Costra." "Eslo Anderson, it's been a long time. Thank you for meeting us." The young woman seemed to be like a younger version of Eslo himself in terms of personality with an arrogance that can be tempered with the right teacher. Eslo can be the right teacher for her. She was escorted to a penthouse apartment where most of the other Senators were; some of the Senators she agreed with. Some of them whom she disagreed with. When she arrived, she saw a beautiful room with light blues and greens all around, and it seemed like Alderaan. Then Hope asked a very crucial question: "Why are you here exactly?" Eslo gave a deep sigh. They haven't seen each other in years, ever since they were young. "We are here to protect you, Senator. We believe someone is trying to assassinate you." Hope couldn't believe it. Yet again, someone was trying to assassinate her. But this time as a Republic Senator, "The nerve of..." She then noticed she said it out loud, and she gave a deep sigh. "When will they try to assassinate me?" "We don't know," Eslo responded with a deep concern. "That's why the Senate sent us here." He seemed to have matured a lot since they last met. The last time they met, he had an immaturity not uncommon within youth. But now, it was entirely different. She sighed once again in relief, but she will need to be prepared; she always did. "Perhaps when this assassin is caught, the true extent of this plot will be revealed. Now, if you'll excuse me. I'm going to bed." She walked toward the bedroom. Then she thought of something, she said to Eslo in a very confident manner. "Eslo, come inside. I have an idea."

Chapter 2

The First Assassin

The plan was simple: using Hope as bait would, in a way, bring in the possibility that she would be killed, but the hope was that she would get caught by the Jedi and the Republic. Whoever this assassin may be, they will not take it lightly. So the Jedi can sense when the assassin is going to strike. So when the assassin strikes, they will, in a way, take the bait. Hope slept soundly in her bedroom; the bed was comfortable, and she didn't feel anything was off. Thankfully, as a backup plan in case the Jedi do not sense them, they got the entire room covered in security sensors in case of any surprises. "Master, I think this is a bad idea," Teheri said in the other room. Obviously infuriated by her master's approval of this plan. "Who knows what will happen to the Senator." Teheri continued. Her master calmed her by stating, "Sometimes people have a different plan, my young Padawan. But we must adhere to this plan if this is going to work. She will be bait, and we will save the senator." "It's too risky." The Padawan argued, and then something happened. While the Jedi were arguing, the assassin, a female Rattataki named Krissina Ventress, had stationed herself near one of the windows into the bedroom. She was about to strike, but before that could happen, the Jedi felt a disturbance in the Force, knowing that the assassin was about to strike. The Jedi lept in the way of the blaster bolts, using their lightsaber to block any attack on the Senator. Hope woke up with a start as she witnessed the assassin trying to kill her and the Jedi valiantly trying to defend her. Then something unexpected happened. Two more assassins, a Trandoshan and a Human, smashed through the living room window to take the Jedi by surprise. This was unexpected but not impossible. She first used the stun setting on her blaster to stun the Human male, and then the Jedi Padawan took down the Trandoshan. Finally, the Assassin on the roof plummeted into the skyline of the speeders that were racing across the building, and she perished. Obviously, Eslo had deflected the last blaster bolt back at the Rattataki, but then she saw that was what she wanted; Hope had the feeling she would be back. Eslo seemed improved his technique from the last time they spoke. The Jedi then started to interrogate the remaining assassin first using the Jedi Mind Trick, but then, as that was going nowhere, they said they would take him back to the Senate Building for an interrogation. "We will be back in case there is any more trouble." Said Eslo, his calming voice allowing a small smile to escape Hope's lips. 'What is this feeling?' she thought to herself. She then said so abruptly that even startled her. "Eslo." She then paused and said, a bit calm this time. "May the Force be with you." Eslo was shocked but smiled. Hope could almost see a blush escape him. "May the Force be with you, Senator Organa." This might be the last time they would speak in a long time, at least until the war is over. Little did she know, they would speak again very soon.
