A way to solve the slicing issue

The biggest complaint I hear from everyone is that there were level 10's and 20's running around with 500k+ money.

 

The new complaint I keep hearing is that the new slicing got beaten to death with the nerf bat.

 

the easiest way to solve both of these issues is go bring slicing back up to what it used to be (or a halfway point or something) and make lockboxes not openable until the appropriate level. For example, if you are doing a mission to get a class 6 lockbox, make it only openable by the 49-50 people that the tooltip suggests, similar to how an a archeology class 6 item is used in items only usable by those 49-50 level people.

 

Sure, there could be some tweaking involved, and lockboxes would need to be AH'able and tradable, but that would make for an interesting AH item too. You could put a class 6 lockbox up on the AH for 2000, and who ever bought it would get between 1800 and 6000 (or whatever).

People would just mail their boxes to their main. This wouldn't solve anything.

 

In all honesty the biggest flaws in crafting is that it isn't gated by level and the top crafted stuff isn't as good/better than acquired items from Commendations/quest/PvP/raiding.

The boxes are bound. You can't mail them to anyone.

The basic problem here is that the crafting profession, except biochem (that's ACTUALLY useful), is a major FAIL. What was BW thinking, were they thinking? And who really cares if people in their 20s have over 500K - honestly, WHO CARES???? Oh, the ones who don't have that kind of money cared... At least they spent that money on AH to buy what?? CRAFTERS' stuff. Now, the economies on my servers are in the toilet, nobody is buying and this whole debaucle has left a sour taste in my mouth.

 

I'm used to being poor and am happy to try to make what little pennies I can to buy things. I really don't waste my time thinking about the next toon and what's in his bank. I play to enjoy myself.

 

But wait, there's more. As you level up, it gets more and more ridiculously expensive to class train, skill train, repairs, taxi travel in higher zones, etc...

 

The ONLY place I can see other players having a coronary over this are the PVP players complaining about someone else having better gear than them. UH, yeah, people are ALWAYS going to have better gear than someone else.

 

So much for trying to play a game just for the enjoyment factor...

I have to admit I agree. A 20% to 30% nerf woulda been suffice, but a 50% to 70% nerf dear god. I agree who cares who has this much credits right now. I'm more concerned with bugs, broken/damaged quests and when I fall though the planet some times. The only people that approve of this are the folks who didn't know about it and are now whineing. Little do they know your gonna need 1.5 mill credits just to get a 110% to movent speeder and skill. My personal thought are the dev and P.R. overreacted. Edited by Baracchus

Actually, I think the need to buff both slicing and archeology. The other 2 gathering skills allow the player to gather from a dead mob. I think slicers and archeologists should be able to do the same. Maybe slicers from troops/pirates/gangs and archeologists from force-using mobs. Then we can all be equal like everyone wants.
