tdoolen
At what level were you able to defeat Lord Skotia? I am level 15 and still cant beat him, am i doing something wrong?
DarkenWulf
I was about 15. Did you use the cybernetic disabler?
Vanidius
I was about 15. Did you use the cybernetic disabler? This ^ You can't beat him without it. Look in your inventory under the mission items tab. It's cake once you use it!
theonepanda
so...I actually beat him without using it. Because...i thought it um...would automatically be used XD well...woo!
punman
I forgot to use it the first time too. That was one of the beta weekends, though. However, Darth Nova Skotia, Canadian Sith Lord, died easily once I actually read the instructions.
Mortec
Heh. My first try he wiped the floor with me, my bad - wasn't prepared at all. Came back at 16. Planned ahead, got him to a sliver of life - could barely see red on his bar! Arrgh! Wandered of, cursing into the night vowing to come back after a level or two. Then I remembered that thingie in my backpack.. A ginormous piece of cake.
Fredbob
Haha I'm glad I wasn't the only one then Worst part was I'd done it in beta, used the item and nuked him fine. Come live and I find that it's a really tough fight, can't see why - use all my cooldowns/stims/medipacks and finally manage it, then I think it's Zash mentions the item in convo.. oops Edited December 30, 2011 by Fredbob
Crowleyz
Killed him on 3 different characters before I realized I could use the mission item to disable him. I was always thinking "Wow, they've done a really good job of balancing this fight" as I barely survived each time. Then when I level'd my 4th sin(and hopefully the last...) I tried using it and the fight became a joke Was level 14-15 I think the other times I've killed him without using it. It is quite doable, but you have to be very efficient. Letting Khem die early is not a good option, switch aggro with him to make sure you have his dps until the end, it helps a lot.
ImaPuma
I didn't realize it until now, but I beat him without using the item. Took 2 tries but I did it as a darkness assassin
DarkTapsa
Forgot about it too on my Assassin. I did beat him the first time without it on my Sith sorc. Edited December 30, 2011 by DarkTapsa
IdealMachine
I really wish they left the fight without the device. I too in beta did not realize I had to use the device and must have tried to beat him 5-6 times. Finally after perfecting my rotation and doing a little kiting, and micromanaging my companion, I beat him with about 5% health. I tell you the 15 minutes afterwards I was jumping up and down and had a beer to celebrate. Aww the satifaction of beating a tough challenge.. With the device the second go around, it was a cake walk and drinking a beer while fighting him.. Too easy, lol
twirlingcobra
I feel your pain!!! I went in as a lvl 14 Deception and almost had him down on my first try. So I figured I would lvl up and go back and try. Lvl 15 and he mopped the floor with me right at the last of his life again. Damn.... try a darkness set up and get really close 1 more time. Asked a friend what lvl she had killed him on her sorc and she said around lvl 14. So much failure building up inside of me...... She offered to come help and we downed it. Then reading this thread I see I had an item to use to make him easier......not so much a failure as I originally thought but dang it was a darn good match without the item!!! jjeorge
There was an item? Huh. Well that would have made it a faceroll I think. Makes me feel less sucky. He wasn't even that hard for me. Maybe I just got lucky.
DarthDraconian
I almost beat him as a 13 within a hit or two. I left played a few warzones and got to a 14 went back and he didn't even get my health to further then half. Easy boss at 14, I believe it is possible to beat him at 13 however this is the first time I've ever played an MMO hope this helps

It was alright, not terribly easy or hard. Khem died, but that's his job.
JobrintheJedi
I thought the fight was pretty well balanced around level 11 with Khem. Rotated taunting back and forth. Came near death but beat 1st try. Never knew anout any quest device.
Billbraskyy
so...I actually beat him without using it. Because...i thought it um...would automatically be used XD well...woo! this is not true. I beat him at lvl 16 without using the quest item (forgot to use it!) I died once and beat him the second attempt using 1 pot and a stim.
Ramsese
I too did not realize the device was there so I didn't use it either. I beat him as a level 16 assassin tank. I ping ponged aggro between myself and my tank companion then used the super-duper champion of the force ability when we were both low on health. Ushela
15 without the device, forgot I had it. You dont need it if you understand how to play the game.
Malefik
During one of the beta builds the device was bugged and didn't work. think I was lvl14 when I beat him then. Knock back lightning stuns are your friends there.
Shanerion
Honestly, it frightens me that people didn't remember to use the item. The whole point of having voice acted dialogue for the quests it to make the player actually care about the quest, and not just click thru and then head to the shiny place on the map. Seriously, it had been such a questline to get that item. You had to bust in, take it, they repeatedly talk about it, about what it does (disable cyborgs), about how Skotia was a cyborg, and about how you were going to need to use it. Am I the only thing who put that item on my bar before I even walked in the room? Listen to the damn quests, people. Pay attention.
Shanerion
wow I'm sorry for double post, but reading more of these posts like "i didnt even realize there was a quest item" are you just sleeping thru the game, or spacebar clicking through all the story??? how much do they need to constantly repeat what to do, make like 3 missions leading up to it all with dialogue particularly pertaining to the item, that when the fight comes, you don't even know about the item. that's pretty freaky. a big thing I like about this game is the story, sad that people are zombies and are just daydreaming thru the cutscenes
ImaPuma
You are incorrect on your assumption that I didn't follow the quest. I did follow it, I just figured the item was automatically used. Honestly I am glad I didn't use it though. That was such a memorable fight.
Ramsese
Same here. I thought it was automatically used or applied and that this was the weakend version. *shrug*
Roninpryyst
I thought the item was used automatically, i got another inquisitor who was nearby to help me, oh well.
