MexarCarn
Is anyone else finding that a Deception built assassin is hard to keep alive when you finish talking to a boss and he + adds attack? I'm finding it rather difficult to stay alive when I don't get the chance to stealth attack and CC pre-combat. I am kitted out in gear current to my level, mods are also at the correct level for my planet etc. I sometime use Khem who I have kitted out pretty well but he is squishy. Andron and the padawan are decent but that leaves me to tank! I have my 'rotation' down pretty well and I don't think it's that...I use all the usual: Maul (when EW is up mainly) Thrash > Thrash > Shock Discharge whenver I can (something stack as many procs as I can on this) Assassinate when below the % required Electrocute and low slash to get into position Anyone have any idea why I find elites/champions just too difficult in the class chain of missions? Or are deception assassins too weak if they don't start off in stealth?
Skulton
if you hit stealth just as you load in from the conversation you can go stealth. or force cloak /shrug
Balagos
I have 0 problems fighting elites as deception. If Khem is tanking I use surging charge. If I am having to go toe to toe with an elite without Khem I use dark charge. Dark Charge is actually pretty good for mopping up weak adds because it is an aoe. Surging charge is best for single target dps. Don't be afraid to switch up between the 2 and use your cooldowns (Blackout, Medpac etc).
punman
if you hit stealth just as you load in from the conversation you can go stealth. or force cloak /shrug I've had force cloak bug out a couple fights or just despawn a group, but generally not in story quests, only in world quests (i.e. not behind a green portal.) Usually you can pop into stealth for a second, even if they immediately aggro you anyway, if you hit it just as you're coming out of the convo. That's enough to get the force regen active. I might have to give this a try actually, I always stick with Surging Charge and never even think about Dark Charge. I thought the force cost was probably too much to switch mid-fight. Though I know what you were talking about with some of the quests facing 5 people as deception. You can try to vanish away to reset it so you can go about sneaky ways, but many times that will fail if you get dotted like the scripted encounters seems to do right away. With Khem some fights are just unwinnable, but with Revel one is able to kite and slow a bit and let him drain them.
