Darth Rivix Appreciation Thread <3 <3 <3 haters make your own!

Guess the real question is who kills Rivix the Commander/Wrath/Nox, Acina/Vowrawn or Krovos or is it Malgus himself.

They put a kill option on Rivix and I'm out  I'm a bit sick of them allowing the best characters/companions to be murdered for no other reason than the enjoyment of idiots.

That's wishful thinking, because I like the character, I know, but it'd be nice for a change to not have another male team member turn on us. This trick stopped being funny with Theron.

Agreed. Let's hope the writers have a bit more imagination with the story this time and are not "one trick ponies" falling back on betrayal crap.

I've said it before - and after hearing what was said by the voice actor himself about romance --

I do not trust him ... never will (and agents, remember what Vector told you ; do you trust Vector or not ?))

Yes, I referred to the livestream and what they said about a possible Rivix romance, which I why

it was a pleasant surprised to see what happens after the FP with him as mentioned in my previous post. It seems they changed their minds

But, since you don't trust him, you probably have no need of this appreciation thread then :p

And only agents got Vector's comments. Many people have/had no idea about that.

There is a bug atm as well regarding him and Arn (Jedi). Rivix appeared in my companion list on my Jedi Consular but Arn shows up in the flashpoint. Not a good idea for him to be on my Jedi Consular list lol.

Note: Regarding killing- Please no more. They have ruined the companions for those of that didn't kill certain companions. So please no more.

Ok, I just had a thought ---

you know how devious Imps can be :D

why not go along with the "romance" -- lead him on as an agent --- ( "on come on Theron, I'm still a spy!")

Betrayal ? Theron getting upset and thinking we don't love him anymore .. OUR true colors coming out ?

Be a good storyline anyway ...

Agent can find out his true intentions .. ok, might romance him a little for that .. I was once an Imperial spy anyway;

make it an little different option than the plain romance route anyway

In Vector I trust, always, lol. My agent is married to Vector. She trusts Rivix about as far as she could throw him. Considering she's the teeniest body type, that is not far, lol. I do think he's an interesting character though, and love the VA. Although, I'm always thinking "Fenris, Fenris Fenris!"

I kinda get the impression he suspects my agent is working against the Empire.

Same. I've been playing the FP, exploring all options and dialogue and enjoying it a lot. The last time I enjoyed SWTOR this much was about 2 years ago. When they started killing off or removing everyone I loved.

I finally accepted that I won't see those characters again, opened up to some of the new ones, esp. Anri and Rivix.

If they get killed (he more likely, because women don't get killed off as often in a BW game), I'm out. There is that many times I can take taking away a character I like.

Then this character is replaced, killed off, replaced, killed off?

I play for the story and people living in this story are the most important aspect for me personally. I do not like a revolving door policy at all.

Me too --- just feeling he's a plant for the Empire saboteur -- not for the loyalist obviously -- just there to make sure we don't try to fool the empire

for the record, I don't want him killed either, I am very tired of everyone getting killed --- unless there is a very good story reason for it (like Saresh)

I'm with everyone against the kill option. I don't want to romance him, but I'm tired of interesting characters being killed off.

Well put.

The FP story with Rivix is far superior to that the republic get (I was extremely underwhelmed doing the story with Arn and Aryn). It would be a huge shame for them to put so much effort into Rivix and then ruin it by not following up or allowing him to be killed off. And since

they dropped a strong hint about Arn becoming a romance in the last livestream, they really should even it up by making Rivix a romance for Empire characters.

They also said there was no romance stuff in this FP, which is why the flirt option with Rivix was such a nice surprise

Rivix is well Voiced and Acted, but I have to say...

He disobeyed me

 That's not good. My Imps don't like that.

It came across to me like he was completely out of control and not listening to your character at all - like we were irrelevant to him or he forgot we were there. I wonder if it was deliberately done to reinforce that our characters are considered weak by the Empire AND/OR that he is there to serve Acina/Vowrawn above everything else and **** your alliance.

I also wonder if Rivix was once one of the dark/evil Jedi mentioned in the flashpoint (the ones capable of mind wipes and other mind manipulation) or at the very least a descendent of them. Whatever his story, his actions and responses make him a really interesting character and I hope they continue his story as well as they have introduced it. Not since Theron arrived in SoR has there been an interesting character. The other new(ish) characters (Lana, Koth, HK-55, Arn, Tau, Anri even Arcann et all) all turned out to be a bit meh or downright annoying

He'd better be romancible since I made a Sith Sorcer just so she could flirt with him.

Having played Secrets of the Enclave imp side three times, I have reached the conclusion that he doesn't trust anyone. not Darth Krovos despite his praising of her at the start, and not you even if you are Darth Nox returned to the Dark Council. Does he suspect an imperial saboteur? No more than he suspects a an imperial loyalist, He suspects everyone. Which saves time, he wont be disappointed when he's proven right and its a nice surprise if proven wrong.

Nobody trusts him, he doesn't trust anybody. Sounds like a typical day in a Sith's life ;)

The Malgus part makes more sense with Pub side story but the Imp side has the better side character. Rivix is the MVP in this FP.

Now that you mentioned it, I wonder if Rivix studied Jedi brainwash because he is most likely a Zeltron and he was studying it to incorporate his species' natural enchanting ability to his Force ability to better control people subtly and smoothly. The Empire/Sith seemed to rely more on implants and drugs to do the mind control thing. The only other Sith who had used the Force to brainwash another person in game is Vitiate on the Jedi Knight (as far as I can remember). It would be interesting if Rivix is using an altered version of Jedi technique to do the similar.

I think if someone is being set up to be killed it is Krovos.

Don't know if they will actually do it but I think Saboteur should ultimately betray all their supposed allies. The Republic Saboteur needs to kill Tau and Arn or abandon them in the middle of a fight. The Imperial Saboteur should kill Major Anri or leave her to die. Republic Saboteur could be with Tau and Arn vs Xarian for example, and then unexpectedly stand beside the Sith. Imperial Saboteur could be with Major Anri going againstt Master Sal-Deron and shock the Major by joining the Jedi against her.. "Sorry, Major but I have been working for the Jedi Master all along".

O.O ooooooooooooh I'm loving this theory!

Nice!

I also think that the reason why he knows so much is simply because it's either his job, or his choice. Krovos's "You admit to not knowing something? I'm shoooocked!" shows that he usually is a walking Google. He probably prides himself on learning all there is to learn about his current tasks.

Krovos's comment was quite funny. I really didn't like her until this flashpoint. Given that Rivix is probably Zeltron, he most likely uses/uses his "extra" abilities to get whatever info he needs from anyone. I bet he even has some lovely dirt on Acina/Vowrawn. I feel we need much more back story on Rivix. Vector knew him from years back so there's probably a lot to tell us. If not fanfic writers will have a field day :D

He is a spy and act like it but in my opinion he will not betray us.

And i'm a secret agent so I know what I am talking about and I'm not afraid of mind control

Speaking of mind control

Does anyone else think that our agents should be at least uncomfortable with re-leashing Malgus? If not vocally "blast that, count me out!"?

Also, I don't see how he could technically betray us. He doesn't work for us, but for Acina/Vowraun. He's just a liaison, and his ultimate master is not us.

I was like "Krovos, nooooo, think about Admiral Ranken!" lol

The part when Rivix seemed to be spooked by our toon is *chef kiss*.

Yeah, my agent is like "**** THIS **** THANK THE STARS I'M AN DOUBLE AGENT"

He KNOWS a thing or two about brainwashing and he HATES it.

Also, Rivix's little charm magic doesn't work on him. So beware, smol, red, claw-loving Sith!

What's with Rivix and those claw gauntlets and boots anyway lol

This VA voices another character with claw-y gloves and I find it hilarious, even though it's just a coincidence :D

I think its implied Rivix knows

Krovos senses Malgus, and isn't telling us, when he asks her about feeling the imprints left in the Force, of course he asks a Sith player character too but its not the same emphasis as when he asks Krovos. But if he can read Krovos how come he cannot sense that my former imperial agent is in fact a double agent working for the Republic and has been for years, although most of them were spent in carbonite so he wasn't much help to the Republic then.

Maybe it's a little easter egg to the VA?

I love his pointy gloves and shoes even though I think it's ridiculous lol

I really love Rivix's armour and hope it is offered as a set we can buy or be rewarded with. Darth Skotia's armour has pointy claw feet too and that's available to buy.
