DaZeeZee
One great feature some games have, is a few solo challenges for high level players, with rewards worth the effort. ESO's Maelstrom Arena, PSo2's solo Ultimate Quest with Omega Masquerade as examples, It'd be great if we saw the system of difficulty levels in chapters applied to story mode solo FP for max level players. No, it shouldn't invalidate group FP nor count for the group FP daily and weekly missions, but arguing against soloable content in an MMO is stupid. Literally like saying if you hate apple juice, dont drink lemonade. MMORPG definition never implies being forced to team up, plus, being forced into something has never been fun for anyone, unless you have some kinda weird kink (no shame, just saying)
DarkTergon
So you want to make a solo HM version of Flashpoints?
DaZeeZee
That's a start, why not? By the time you're level 75 with 300 item level or more, the normal solo mode FP are boring. It shouldn't just be stuff does more damage, but actually more mechanics to pay attention to. The amount of mechanics in SWTOR content is pathetic compared to other games, casual story content in FF14 has way more mechanics than any MM flashpoint here. I'm not saying your idea is bad, I am just wondering what would the difference between the vet/hm FP as they are (which some people solo already) , and a new solo (HM), would it be a level between vet & hm? Well, I'd guess more mechanics and things to pay attention to, with more consequences for trying to sleepwalk through it. Still have a text callout on screen if something isnt going to be easy to notice, but make the player have to be actually paying some attention. for instance "Big Bad Boss is charging up their Mega Doom Explosion 9000! STOP THEM!" would indicate using an interrupt will prevent said doom explosion from killing you, but if you ignored that for more than 6 seconds BOOM! And have that explosion actually kill you, if someone can survive it would be a tank with defensive cooldowns up if anything. Combine this kind of thing with more to dodge or move from, like the guy at the end of hammer station where you run behind him when he does his gunslinger pew pew, and so on. People have been complaining that others get in to ops, and have no idea how to do them, this idea could be a 'training' ground type of thing, get people used to ops mechanics, without the risk of them wiping an op. I like the idea of it having mechanics that people can learn, and get used to, without having to jump in to group content, or even face group content solo. DaZeeZee
I mean, I dont support forcing mandatory "training" for content, it never actually works, but this would be an additional, solo based challenge people could do. Solo play is ALWAYS in demand in every mmo, due to the fact not everyone is a decent person to others online, in fact, most people are abusive and toxic these days. People being forced to group with randoms is asking for them to find something else to play. SWTOR already does a better job here than most, and should expand on that. No, I never meant it as forcible, but optional, for people who want to expand, etc. Solo play is ALWAYS in demand in every mmo, due to the fact not everyone is a decent person to others online, in fact, most people are abusive and toxic these days. . Exactly, I go solo myself quite a lot.
