Tenetke
You have time to nerf stuff, you have time to fix him. This is just stupid that he is still like this. I don't care if you just remove his damn harpoon. Sure it might help a few smugglers because they know about the bug and they are trying to figure a way around it. Just disable his damn harpoon until you have time to stop working on balance and work on bugs if you have to. This should have been fixed in beta. edit: Just so it's clear I'm not complaining that the cover system is still broken, I'm not complaining about alot of bugs that can be worked around easily. All I want is to be able to disable his skill and have it stay off. At lower levels this isn't such an issue, but at higher levels where enemies do some pretty powerful aoes in close range it's kind of freaking important I keep range on them. I find it stupid that many of my skills as a gs are devoted to pushing the enemies back, or slowing them down. Then when I use them he just pulls a LOLYeehawcorso and it was all for nothing. I can't position him where I would like, so I have to break cover, move and then take cover again. That isn't very workable in solo play past level 20. Grunthex
Absolutely not to removing his harpoon. Yes, fix him so he remembers the instructions you gave him. But that harpoon is what makes him excel as a ranged tank. You can CC something, then tell him to attack something else and he'll yank it out of the way and not break your CC. If you leave it off, you have to turn off over half his DPS abilities, and he fails to tank. Don't touch my harpoon.

Companion tanks can't really tank in this game anyways since they nerfed them into the ground. Sure fire way to play without a companion? Run with one level 30ish and beyond! No extra armor mitigation = tank companions are worthless. Any heavy armor DPS companion or healer is superior as they will split agro with you and not get insta-gibbed by 4 mobs. I get that, and it has it's uses but playing as a gs he continues to yank mobs over that have powerful close range abilities. Take the guys that stun when they get in melee, he pulls them over they instantly stun him. Then I have a guy point blank opening up on me, while Im fighting at range. I'm not saying it isn't useful, but this is just stupid once the enemies start hitting harder.
_Flin_
Yes, please turn the harpoon off as a standard. It is soooooooooooooooooooooo annoying. This would be a quick fix, until you figured out why Corso's harpoon is always on when he respawns, or the game is started new.

Every time I yell damn you corso someone at BW has a giggle, I'm sure of it. (to avoid the inevitable, that was just a joke I'm almost certainly not that narcissistic) In all seriousness though, they did make him one of the most interesting characters to me. Once I found out what happened to his family, and some other stuff I want to actually play with him. That's why the tone of my OP was so damn frustrated. You make this story, and now I'm actually interested in it, but at the same time it feels like a punishment to play with him. Is he as good as a player tank? No. But no healer companion can heal like a player, and no dps companion dps's like a player. And as for the reply suggesting Corso's harpoon really messes up Gunslingers, I believe it. Which is why I said I'd like to see it save his settings. I just don't want his harpoon removed because one AC doesn't like it. Fix things. No removing them.
