Pylock
I am a big fan of the Esports caster TB, and recently he stated something that stuck me as very true and very sad at the same time. Why is it that we as gamers will pay $60 for a console game get 30 hours play out of it and be completely satisfied. Yet we buy a newer MMO for the same price play for 30 days on it and are dissatisfied with our money spent(I have not had much time to play only 3 days played since early releases... 72 hours). So I will say a gamer taht plays 2-3 hours a day will have say was 60-90 hours in a month and we all know 2-3 hours goes by fast in an MMO. Console game breaks down to $2 an hour for entertainment taht was fun... MMO 3 hour days- .66 cents per hour 5 hour days- .40 cents per hour 10 hour days-.20 cents per hour The average American pays for per hour for their cable TV, or even a good book these days Yet we as gamers are spoiled ***** when it comes to MMO's, is $60 worth 90, 150, 300 hours of enjoyment? If not why did you keep playing after the first 10 hours?
Haasth
I think it mostly comes down to the fact that other games in general start quicker and are done much faster. Within that time that console game is easily completely played through. An MMO on the other hand requires a hefty time investment and often starts out a bit slow.
