Jugg DPS/PvP Advice, get rid of the QQ

First, let me say real quick I haven't played Immortal spec so I can't talk about it.

Second, if you're below lvl 30 as a Juggernaut in PvP, don't worry things get so much better.

So I've been mostly PvPing with a couple flashpoints and the main story quests up the levels, and let me tell you Jugg is definitely not broken. From 24-29 I consistently stayed in the top 3 damage for warzones [even though I focus objectives, not kills], often topping the charts. I tried both Vengeance and Rage trees, both are very strong and totally viable, it's more of a preference of play style than one is better than the other. Now I'm level 30, and my damage has skyrocketed.

Since I prefer Vengeance over Rage, I'm not going to talk about Rage here other than to say that my major issue with it is keeping my rage up enough to use obliterate whenever it was needed. I tend to dump rage ASAP, I'm pretty proud on my rotation skills.

For DPS, the class is all about blowing your hardest hitting skill whenever its up, with the exception of using sundering assault almost every time its up (rare exceptions). Your smash does a good amount of damage and with the right spec into Vengeance it even gives you a rage to use it, but the class shines as single target DPS. Force shout as you close in (or when its up), impale when its up, I know I'll basically get rid of vicious slash when I get shatter, but until then use all that excess rage on repeated vicious slashes. !!!Just as important as rotation is to BLOW YOUR COOLDOWNS!!! A large source of DPS (or in some cases damage mitigation) comes from our cooldowns, of which we are given quite a bit of. This also includes relics if you have any.

In summary for DPS, sundering assault, blow strongest cool down when its up, use your long cooldowns frequently.

Now what I'm really about is PvP, and I can't believe the QQing I hear on these forums. If you're rotating your abilities the right away (basically the same as DPS roll, except you blow your AoE slow pretty frequently to apply tons of pressure), then you should be dishing out tons of damage, even at low levels. It just goes up and up as you keep leveling. THE MAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUGGERNAUT PVP AND OTHER CLASSES IS THE AMOUNT OF ATTENTION AND THINKING REQUIRED.

As I PvPed more and more, I learned my place as a non-immortal jugg. Pick your targets wisely, you have a few great interrupts so I tend to target casters, especially healers. I don't just run through the middle of the field and get everyone's attention as I leap through the air into the middle of 6 enemies. Best of all, if I can I don't even leap to get in. If it's a healer or something important, just run up, force push, then force leap and you get your own private party, or just save it for when they do their favorite knockback. Paying attention to the whole warzone is what makes this class, your job is to separate out the key players and prevent them from making a huge difference in the game.

Again, pay attention to your cool downs. Since you don't have heals of your own, knowing when to mitigate damage, force push, leap to a singled out enemy, etc. etc. is a huge deal in survivability. I have taken down opponents from less than 10% health while they still had ~30-40% left by doing force choke>force push>force leap>heaviest hitter you have available. You don't always have all these up but then again you don't always live with 10% against someone with 30-40%.

So in summation for PvP: Pick your fights intelligently, rotate properly, keep them slowed, know when to blow your cool downs. The great thing about Juggernaut in PvP is how much pressure we put on enemies, they either need some ace up their sleeve (i.e. throw you into a trap snared) or they need allies. Even with allies, because of our heavy armor and tons of damage we can usually take out one person before finding a quick retreat or falling for the moment.

You picked juggernaut, treat yourself like one.

Edit: Added ", or just save it for when they do their favorite knockback" as I felt that was an important aspect to NOT opening with force leap. Obviously obliterate specs will view this differently since they need the rage opening properties and such and have a second close in, but like I said its not my preference.

Oh, and let me just add that I can't wait to level all the way to 50. I have no trouble with elite mobs like some seem to have, I see some really amazing abilities ahead of me (both types of saber throws, intercede, shatter if I stay Vengeance, and AoE 6 second sleep) that I can't wait to add to my arsenal. I'll make an official PvP and/or DPS guide for Vengeance when I'm there if I still like it better than rage. Happy hunting.
