SpaghMonst Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 I haven't played since the plague began. Maybe before that. I figured it's anniversary time, let's log in and see what's up, right? So I log in my old main - the one I've made it farthest into the game with. Max level. Saved the galaxy dozens of times. Beaten all the big bads. And lo, there's a new quest line for me. That's hot. Right into the action. And the first quest is... wait for it.... gathering up crates that are in my hangar in my base and ... delivering that stuff ... to people ... who are also in the hangar in my base. I'm surprised that I finished the quest before logging out. Seriously, after all I've done for the galaxy and with the thousands of people I have fighting on my side, the best thing for me to do is carry crates to people who are right f*cking there in the same room who can't figure out how to get to the crates for themselves? I remember way back in game test, the excitement, thrill, and immersion I felt the first time I walked into the hangar on Coruscant and saw that beautiful starship, all mine. This return... This was just pathetic. Disappointing. A clear message that I shouldn't bother with the game. I wish the devs were better. I loved this game.
ceryxp Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Yeah, it is so sad that the Commander can choose to help refugees directly rather than simply delegating the task (ya know, that second option in the dialogue). And too bad you can not tell them to have at it, get to it, do not let you get in the way (oh wait, you can, just choose the second option). BTW, there is some easter egg dialogue in there that references your character's past. And, of course, that little story bit is only intended to serve as a bridge between one larger bit of story an another. Just like the next small story bit that comes after that also serves to connect to the next larger story bit. And then after those story bits is the larger Echos of Oblivion and Mando themed flashpoint (do not remember the name). All of which you will not experience because you decided that helping some refugees was beneath you. Oh and, welcome back.

So they don't even try to enjoy something, and instead start listing their gripes. While I don't have a problem with that, if that's what they want to be (amateur critic), but I wish they wouldn't feel like their poorly crafted criticism is worth posting for others to read.
JuventusAndFCK Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 (edited) You know, commenting about "first world problems" has become something of a meme, but it seems to fit perfectly here. I'm pretty sure it took OP more effort to write their post than it would have taken to complete the small tasks before the next story mission. There's plenty of thrill left in this game, tiny missions with easy tasks do not take away from that. Edited December 31, 2020 by JuventusAndFCK
DarkTergon Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Personally I like these little missions, especially when you have a choice. It can show your caring side, if you want, and can help, or if you are the big meeny, you can tell them to P888 off :-D They just take a couple of mins, add a little bit more of a dimension to your 'world' and it's a nice little breather before you hop in to bigger stuff.
Jesseriah Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 (edited) Just don't bother with this troll. BioWare thanks you for the 12,99 btw. Edited December 31, 2020 by Jesseriah
DarkTergon Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 BioWare thanks you for the 12,99 btw. I doubt it, I picture them as spoilt kids looking at the $12.99 and going "Is that it, is that all you're giving me" lol Or jerry maguire Shouting "Show me the money"

Same! Even the Commander needs a little down time now and then. Playing with a few crates and chatting to people would be like a holiday compaired to most missions they have to deal with. A way to connect with people and remember why they're fighting. Edited December 31, 2020 by Suzsi
RameiArashi Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 And those two NPCs who claim they are going to help just stand there. If you decline to help nobody gets anything apparently. The imp side with the darth wanting a tour is more interesting. At least he has a different comment in the force users area of the base for each class.

I actually like the refugee one better because then I don't have to drag Darth Fenris all over and listen to him trying to schmooze me by fawning over everything. At least the refugees are legitimately grateful.

Goreshaga Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 lol, true, I think most of my chars told him to find his own way, in a nice way of course...lol I'd personally not let that guy roam around the base without anyone to watch him, especially since my imps are saboteurs.
