Shadysketchy
According to who? Playing a video game does not create a dependency, chemical or otherwise; and cannot, because it does not interface with your body
Sycoskater
Video game creates mental stimulation, and other feelings/emotions, that are all created by chemicals found in the brain. It can definitely be an addiction.. Do your research before posting, please
Quaade
Playing a video game does not create a dependency, chemical or otherwise; and cannot, because it does not interface with your body It does, it creates a feeling of reward which in turn stimulates the creating of dopamine I believe, which is our happy hormone. So yes, you can be very much addicted to a videogame, most professional practicioners disregard this and treat a videogame like something you can just drop if given enough incentive. For this reason many people suffering from mentall illnesses doesn't get the treatment they need because their therapist doesn't take it serious enough. Umbral
But why can't I stop playing it? Ummm because you paid a minimum of $60.00 for the game assuming that BW would eventually include features that a modern mmo has like at least a server LFD tool, a global market that actually made some sense, customizable UI, etc etc, but then are told "no, we forgot to mention that we really have no idea about mmo gamers and you're not getting those things.", so you want to squeeze at least a bit of value from the game before the population exodus in a month, and then another in three months? noire
Playing a video game does not create a dependency, chemical or otherwise; and cannot, because it does not interface with your body You have empirical evidence to back this up I take it. 'Cause without it, you're just another opinionated person in a sea of 7 billion other opinionated people. Though there's something called behavioral addiction, you might want to look it up.
