Miffen
A major point of frustration recently has been the "laggy" gameplay. This is especially apparent in warzones where there is a lot of things happening at once, causing stress on servers and on the client. I have been able to modify some settings in game and outside to make the situation the best it could possibly be for me. I have gone from an average 25-28 fps in warzones to about 80-90 average. I thought that the problems i was seeing in warzones had to do with serverside packetloss (or client side) but the 2-5 seconds ability delay I was experiencing has dissapeared. Please attempt ALL of the changes I list below, before saying this is not the cause. Neither you or I have the source code and I am just as surprised as I hope you will be that this actually made such a huge impact on abilities as well. These are the steps I took that has made my SWTOR run much smoother(as well as 10+ friends in game who attempted the same): 1) Upgrade to newest graphic card drivers: This is something that I am sure most of you have done. However, a month old driver is not the newest, so make sure you actually do this! 2) Lower the graphic settings in your game: The things that have the most impact will be: Disabling bloom, turning shadows off, grass detail to 0, tree detail to 0 and lowering the resolution. 3) Right click your SWTOR shortcut and choose properties > compatibility and tick the following: Disable visual themes Disable desktop composition Run as administrator Edited December 30, 2011 by Miffen
