Hmmm, I think the biggest problem is you out level the content before you can make it useful. With the amount of time it takes to craft some of the later items, you're better off overleveling your craft so you have your purps ready to go when you ding that next tier.

It takes an absurd amount of tries, and I am fine with that at level 50, but while leveling it decreases the utility of crafting. Still, it will be nice to know that most players won't put in that much effort, so you can make some credits off of it.:D

After this whine thread, I decided to listen to some rocky music and RE tons of more blue implants.

I scored 3 hawkeye dps recipes, endowment resolve with high crit, medium surge, low alac, and the 40 shield 27 accuracy 60 defense veracity redoubt implant.

Needless to say, with those 5 recipes, that happen to cover the base for Str/Aim/Cunning dps (Hawkeye overkills, 69 acc 40 pow 25/29 crit), Mage heals (and dps if you don't exactly fancy high alac values everwhere), and Jugg tank implants ...

I made 1.5m for my mount, have about 4.5-7mil worth of implants on the auction house, have about 200+ 340 mission discoveries, and have 12.5mil sitting in my bag. Now who knows, the next man may come along and crush me, telling me his 30mil wallet breaks mine, but I seriously doubt I'll be needing money anytime soon.

Heres the kicker, even though some people have managed to crack what was a 2 week monopoly over any lvl 49 implants purple implants, I'm still making 1-2 mil a day off idle GTN auctions and the occasional spam. Heck, my report has gotten so good that people look for me to make them implants.

Pumping them out like they were <Made in China>, but its my autograph instead!

Heres my #1 tip

Don't settle for trashy stats, pick a class, role or spec, and find the optimal combos.

Also, slash the cost for ppl buying 2 implants. Sell them in packs of 2. This helps support mass creating, thus leading to more augments. Save and sell your augmented ones for the more serious players/raiders, while offering the fresh 50 pups some new upgrades on those lvl 37 green implants.

All I see here is the separation of wheat from chaff. The hardcore crafters will stick with it. The rest will get fed up and get their gear/credits in other ways.

The problem I see is that the "other ways" is not including buying from us crafters.

Last night I kept notes on my crafting. 39 RE attempts and I learnt one blue recipe, a red crystal I didn't want anyway. The items I did want the blue and purple schematics for are 20 minute recipes. If I use the 39 number as a guide then that is 13 hours to learn a blue recipe. One of three recipes, which means I have to try multiple times to get the one I want. Then 13 hours of the blue recipe to get the purple one. But there are five purple recipes, so I might have to do it again. And again. And again.

In those tens an hundreds of hours I have levelled my character so far that the purple item is useless to me!

So I attempt to sell it to people who are getting great gear from PVP and commendations.

Now there is the possibility of critical items, that have augment slots. These must sell for a lot right? Well, I am a level 34 character with artifice 260ish. How many critical items have I produced in all of that time? One. In total. Did it sell on the GTN? Heck no.

…adding a tooltip to REable items when RE is active, which would list the potential discoverables from a particular piece of gear.

This is the best crafting suggestion I've read. You, sir or madam, just won a big Gizka plushie.
