Rage spec is sick in PvP. It's more than viable.

Trust me on this one. Get to 50, get some PvP gear and let the fun begin. I'm finally enjoying the hell out of my self. It's really hard to tell how the balance actually is atm as not everyone you face is 50. But if rolling noobs is your thing, your gonna love being a rage juggenaut. You'll tear most everything a part. Only thing you need to fear are geared power techs and operatives. Though techs wont kill you fast enough. A lone geared healer can pose problems if he is good with cc and sees you coming but i guess it's like that for everyone. Assassins will be cut to pieces so easy it's almost a joke.

Things will most definately change ones everyone is geard in expertise pvp gear but right now we are unstoppable juggernauts. Out mobility is obcene with force jump, obliterate and intercede and our burst is monster.

It's definately apparent how awesomely good experise is on gear. It may not look like much but coupled with out natural defenses it will really start to add up.

This is the spec you should use btw.

1 point intimidation + 1 point Gravity from Rage tree = Free slow. The free force scream after charge and obliterate is mandatory as this spec suffers from rage strarvation. Also enraged sunder is a key ability as it will instantly build 3 points which will be enough for you to use Smash or Force crush both of which are staples in your build.

Rest of the points are pretty much self explanatory i guess.

The trick is to always have force crush up one someone and to remember not to use force scream unless its after an obliterate or charge. Other than that, it's not much to it. Manage your rage and cooldowns and make good use of shockwave stacks. Liberal use of saber throw and enrage required.

How's the survivability of the Rage spec?

I was going to go a Rage Marauder, but I got so sick of not being able to level very well because I felt like a Rogue without the defensive cooldowns, so I actually rolled an Inquisitor, and have been enjoying it loads more. However, I still am interested with the Sith Warrior.

To be honest, I'm just obsessed with lightsaber combat. :csw_redsaber:

I like this.

I've been toying with an idea lately.. to skip all the shiicho abilities in the rage tree and use soresu in pvp, so i can still put up guard in groups and absorb a bit more damage.

Something like this.

http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101cMMZhZGr0rddRdhR.1

You don't get the free slow, but it's still only at 1 rage. Retalliation will be much more spammable. And obv more tanky.

Missing out on 20% ignore armour of course, and the slightly easier time building rage with shiicho. The reduced cooldown time seems mostly inconsequential. And hopefully the points into enrage/relentless will help make up for rage issues. ( could put two points into it and take out the ravage talent )

I dunno, just a thought. What do you guys think? And i don't mean to hi-jack the thread btw, i just wanted to throw this idea and somehow who i already agree with a build for.

Well that's hard to say at this point as many poeple i face are not level 50 and doesn't have pvp gear. Over all we are hard to kill and can survive really good if you use force charge and intercede defensively. I leveled as a immortal from level 30+ though as that was much easier.

It's good to see some positive jugg posts but

as you said right now most people in PVP are below 30 they dont have any pvp gear, all skills / talents and well most of them are casuals pvp who are only doing it for daily quest XP

its really good to have something positive but we need wait for most people to cap and then do pvp : /

also how do you feel about CC?

on another note I really hate topics like this when marauders post screen how they do 200k dmg in pvp saying that both jugg and marauders are fine even tho they got all abilities gear and everything and most ppl in bg are lvl 15 who just play for fun and some XP ...

I also want to strongly stress the point that if you would take lets say a Bountyhunter with the same equipment you seem to run arround with that it would be even more obscene.

Nevertheless I can also state that at higher lvl's the Rage Tree begins to shine, I am lvl 43 on my jugg and a 100 % bonusdmg guaranteed smash crit is very impressive. Nevertheless what I have the most problem with is not realy the class itsself but the PVP system in regards to melee.

If they would introduce something Arenalikish we would realy shine as the class overall is in a good state at lvl 50, but considering that PVP is atleast 8v8 and you have to jump into a group yelling here I am - whack me, it's just not realy satisfying to jump into a group, hit them all with 3.5k + (i guess your nr's are higher) and die 5-20 seconds later. Rinse and repeat. Your damage in the end is comparable and your team is nowhere worse of if they would have another ranged instead of you as the damage would have been dished out anyways but it's just not all that fun for you.

I am coming from WoW and played a melee there as well as a ranged and somehow never felt it this bad, I guess a big part has to do with hutballs layer system further putting ranged into a better position.

Sorry bout the excurse :D But I realy dont see the jugg to be all that fun in PVP once the others have geared up in our momentary state, 1 v 1 we are very fine but thats not PVP normaly. Yet buffs would make us to strong I guess. Dunno

I play rage in PvP as it is at the moment at level 35... have been since mid 20's and its only got better each time. Throwing people around is so much fun with the obliterate to get back into peoples faces easy. Extra armor pen on everything is a bonus and it just gets better after that. I could go on.

Im glad to see people agreeing with what i've been saying all along rather than telling me Im flat out wrong regardless of my first hand experience and that the class is crap and needs to be changed.

I'm new to jugger, so I'm just wondering if its going to stick like this...

I'm currently level 14, and I pulled 3 on damage, at 129k , I had 7 kbs and 10 deaths in huttball. Does it stay like this, or get worsw? Get better? I'm digging it so far.

My survivability is low, but I expect that, as I'm still in green level 7 medium armor with the medium chest from bt

Rage is meh for pvp. You generate rage slow and you're biggest burst is from Smash, at 44 I'm able to get smash up to 4k which is cool and all but I prefer Vengeance pvp. Getting the talent that gives you a stacking buff whenever you're slowed is awesome. 50% extra dmg on Impale? yes please.

I prefer vengeance pvp

Why?

Not trolling, just genuinely curious. I've toyed around a lot with vengeance and just haven't found my niche for it yet.

Based solely on my experience pvp'ing in other mmo's Rage seems like the clear cut winner for pvp because of it's control and burst.

Maybe other people find a way to make vengeance work but for me it has been utter fail. Unstoppable is the only good talent in the whole tree i will miss as rage. It doesn't have burst, it doesnt have a good slow, and dot damage kind of sucks. I just don't see what the spec can offer.

Yeah. sorry. I usually get on people about posting answers like that and not explaining why.

Vengeance is more then viable to be an effective pvp spec if you are skilled. I do more then fine as vengeance and top meters as well. I never run out of rage. I'm constantly doing damage and the bleeds aren't bad. Kinda like a WoW's feral druid.

Unyielding: Generates 4 rage when stunned, put to sleep or knocked down (Which happens all the time; this talent alone keeps my rage bar filled)

Unstoppable: Force Charge has 100% chance to grant Unstoppable, reducing all damage taken by 20% and granting immunity to "interrupts" and all "controlling effects" for 4 seconds. ( Your un CCable for 4 seconds PVP)

Pooled Hatred: Whenever your movement is impaired, you gain a 10% bonus to your next melee ability that cost rage. This effect can stack up to 5 times and last 10 seconds. (Who gets snared more then a juggernaut? 50% Bonus damage to impale tears stuff up)

Deafening Defense: Reduces all damage taken by 4%. Additoinally reduces the cooldown of Intimidating Roar by 15 seconds (Even though its complaints intimidating roar breaks fast, its still an interrupt)

I don't see how Vengeance is being counted out. As far as not having not having a 2nd gap closer, I don't get kited much. If you play your CD's right you'll be fine.

As a Scoundrel, I eat Juggs for lunch. Most of the time you cant even get out of stun before i am finishing you off.

Yeah, Scoundrel's do insane damage during the stunlock. I don't have a problem with it and fair well against them, but I've seen some crazy videos with Scoundrel's / Operatives. Enjoy the fun while it last because you guys might be the 1st class hit with the nerf bat.

Pretty much guaranteed they will be one of the first to be balanced down.
