Changing mode should not restart progress completely

Just because you change the mode (story/veteran/master) it does not mean that all progress should be reset. It shouldn't reset at all just instantaneous change and make things easier or harder. We spend a lot of time trying to navigate to the mission location, fight and defeat enemy forces and complete the mission. We shouldn't have to do all that over again if we feel we need to change the mode to make things easier for us in boss battles and etc. At the very least, it should just go back a little but not too far that we lose a significant amount of progress.

Not allowing this is actually common in games; it's to prevent players from going through the game (or flashpoint/operation/chapter/etc.) on easy mode then switching to hard (or story and switching to Master, as the case may be) to get credit for completing bosses on hard/Master difficulty. If they did change it to allow changing difficulty as suggested, I strongly predict that the current "Defeated (enemy boss) on Master Mode" and "Defeated flashpoint/operation/uprising on Master Mode" achievements would all be changed to "Defeated (whatever) on Master Mode without changing the difficulty"...
