Ossus Faction Choice - does it affect Companions?

I'm at the part where I got to choose again a faction...

Currently on a Jedi Sentinel - been mostly light sided. IF I choose to stick with the Republic do I lose the sith/empire companions I gained (ie. Lana, Acina)?

Does choosing the opposite faction affect you losing companions ?? is the question xD

Short answer: No

Long answer:

There are some points at which you may have a decision to make. Some of the lesser people you've recruited may want to go back to the Empire, particularly if you choose to rejoin the Republic (or Empire) instead of maintaining a separate Alliance. If I recall correctly, Lana can stay - I don't recall if there's a choice involved though, but I think all of my characters that have done Ossus/Onslaught still have Lana.

I'm not entirely sure because I never use Lana any more. She always looks sort of "ill" and I have other melee healers to use.

Acina is not a companion. She would actually be the Sith Empress now provided:

She didn't get killed in Iokath.

In theory it does.

There are some companions who send you emails saying they can't work with the opposite faction. I take this to mean they won't ever appear in the storyline for you (not that any of them are showing up anyway).

In practice, you don't lose any companions, and can still use the ones who send you 'so-long' e-mails.
